2020 Voodoo Blue Tacoma TRD Off Road DCLB
    Hey all,

Been lurking on here a long time, but have been slowly learning/drinking the kool-aid. I got my dream truck last year, 2020 DCLB voodoo blue with the premium/tech packages. Just missing (not missing) the panoramic cam. I love it. I came from a 99 Durango, which was also a lot of fun. While I wish the cabin was bigger, I've def become a Toyota fan boi.

It's been fun learning and reading, but I still don't know what the hell I'm doing haha. Unfortunately, with where I'm located and job demands, the truck has been a mall princess.

Here's my scattered mind in a nutshell: my goal is to get out and do mild/moderate things of all this truck has to offer! I'm hoping to go camping, and figure out what setup we (the wife and I) like - ground tent vs truck bed (softopper or tent) vs rtt vs towing. I would love to do some offroading, but I'm not really into rock crawling/heavy offroading. I can't wait to throw a dirtbike in the back and hit the desert. Basically, I just love the idea that whatever we want to do, we have the versatility to do it. I realize you can do it with any truck, but I have wanted a Tacoma for years.

I think most of my upgrades will be aesthetics and bolt-on. The oem reliability of the taco is very appealing to me.

    What I've done:

    - installed redarc tow-pro liberty
    - Lomax tri-fold tonneau
    - Tacoma bed mat
    - OEM tailgate power lock

    Things I'm considering:
    - TRD OEM lift, self-installed with a buddy, followed by alignment, +/- AAL
    - Associated pro-grille
    - trd skid plates
    - wheel vinyls with eventual wheel/tire upgrade when the stock set wears out
    - removable softopper
    - Idrive plug-in to decrease throttle resolution until eventual tune upgrade
    - roof rack (prinsu?), if we find our actual outdoor activities justify it.
-trd Cai (opinions? $400 eye candy or an actual fun addition?)

Things I really don't know, total newbie:
    - the range of AALs and what's appropriate for a moderate balance between maintaining moderate off-road viability but helps with tow sag. I'm not too hot on the block lift on the TRD OEM, but I love the level look. Maybe a 1/2 inch rake would be fine? Either way, I know dick about the range of AALs.
    - If I plan on moderate towing (light pop-up, 3-4k lbs loaded trailer weight), should I get sumo springs or airbags? How does that work when you are trying to maintain rear-end travel when hitting off-road trails?

I'm about to move out of the urban jungle soon, and back towards the desert. I'm super pumped to log some adventuring with this beast. I want to drive it until it disintegrates.
