What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

More like last night but I dented the absolute crap out of my OEM skid plate yesterday. Tire will rub at full lock. Any suggestions for a new one? Budget is a tad tight.

I like those fender flares... how did you mount them?

 

Ha no sledge, it's pretty beat up with a couple punctures in the pan itself. It just looks pretty because I rattle canned it. I can easily justify upgrading to a steel one, but I'm not really wanting to pay >$400 for one. CBI has been realistically the only one that I know about if anyone has another suggestions.

People typically get rid of theirs for free in the classifieds section. I’m sure you’ll be able to find one local to you

 

Try posting a new thread asking if anyone has a take off skid plate hanging around. You might have to bump the thread back to the top of the pile every now and again. You can also post in the what have you done to your 2nd gen today thread that links the thread or just asks if anyone has one. Or search TW for threads that ask people to show off their aftermarket bumpers or skids. Those are likely to be places where extra skid plates live.

And you can even check your local auto salvage yard......

Cannon foam wash and ceramic spray before off to work. Also scored a TRD skid plate from a local dealer. They have really fair pricing online so did it when I order plugs. Thinking TRD exhaust next. Polishing the headlights next week. Not bad for an 11 year old truck.

 

Got myself a camper!

 

No pics yet (still need to finish cleaning it up), but I took a 3 hour round trip today to pick up a cheap used shell. It was on an 08 AC, so it took some wiggling to get it on my RC, and one stop along the way to make an adjustment, but it’s on there. Still need to get some parts (new locking handles, overhead light) and wire up the brake light, but overall it’s exactly what I needed.

 

Shes nakey. Prep for Super Pacific camper has begun. Also if anyone in SD wants to trade their black mountain hatch for a red one let me know. Not diggin the bright red.

 

Well they may not work for you, because it's need a underside lip like a L if your trimmed your fenders you most likely removed that lip.

But I'm actually going to change it up, my -38mm stick out crazy far now lol, I'm going to trim my stock fenders and go with a trimmed aftermarket bolt on fender flare

 

Picked up a used mower about 125 miles round trip.

 

I wasn't kidding. Post it note serves two purposes. Covers the epoxy while it cures and will be a good indicator of whether or not I got enough of the bolt cut off.

 

Looks good, but I feel like with my hacked up fenders I'd create an even bigger mess.
Be sure to post photos once you figure out a palatable solution and I'll follow suit.
