How long did you have to wait for your 2021 factory order?

I’m also from Canada and ordered one coming next week and I thought it was just me who couldn’t get the VIN but I’m glad to know that it’s a Canada thing. If you find out about the LED headlights let me know.. I ordered a TRD sport premium but I would have loved to order a trd sport premium and tech package if we could in Canada...

 

Hey all. Getting back into a tacoma after six years. I put a deposit on a cement OR DCSB 6mt w/ tech and led pkgs on 1/31/2021. Got word over the weekend that the truck has been built and should arrive in 2-3 weeks. Can’t wait!

 

Temp vin stopped working this morning, so truck is in production..... getting closer

 

Got sent my new vin today from dealer after plugging it in to toyota vin Look up site it said that the vin wasn't valid. So either the dealer typed a wrong number or letter in there when he sent it or it just takes some time for it to show up and work... maybe production has to finish before it works.

Also got an estimated delivery to dealer date of July 5th-12th. Hope it's sooner than that lol.

 

My truck built 5/5. still not even switched to in-transit status - can't get reasons from dealer. delivery estimated has gone from 5/26 - 6/4 to now 6/7 - 6/14. Sales dude seemed to be hinting that further slippage is very likely. Something is going on for sure - my advice - take delivery estimates with a grain of salt.

 

I must be missing something. Where do you find the status of an ordered truck? Mine was built on the 18th with arrival dates from 6/8 -6/13. I have an actual vin now.

 

dealers get 'dealer daily' upadtes that show current status (allocated for rail, rail, etc.. ) and estimated delivery window - salesman provided screenshot of DD. my truck mexico built, coming to Colorado .. have heard rumors of labor issues for rail link factory to port .. idk . btw, nice avatar - hope carcillo sees it.

 

That's what I thought. I guess that's something that the customer look up. No biggie, it will get here when it does. Thanks.

 

My truck built 4/22 at Guanajuato, Mexico to be shipped by rail to Kansas City, MO with onward truck movement to dealer site. Original ETA of 24-31 May provided on 4/26. Today, 5/24, things changed. Dealer called to inform new ETA of 15-21 Jun. Did not have reason for 3 week delay. Yes, something could be going on.

 

yes, thats the right approach, I'm impatient as I am butting up against some travel plans. Also have visions of my truck parked in some desert getting infested with scorpions and with armadillos (or other desert rodent as appropriate) gnawing on my harnesses.... obviously I am spending too much time on TW.

 

LOL, thanks...playoffs and waiting for a truck is nerve racking...funny thing is, I have a stress test on Friday...all of this doesn't help. My wife is worried, I think it's just gas.

 

Update: mine might arrive this Friday - 5/28 - since it hit port today. Just over 2 months from order till delivery if that's the case.

 

Just got word my Tacoma made it to the dealer this morning. Dealer allocated in March, Build 5/4, delivered 5/25 coming from San Antonio plant.

 

Just wanted to provide an update to my original post quoted above. Just got word from my dealer that my truck is scheduled to be built June 14. Will update this when I get any new details!

EDIT: Salesman sent a pic of the spec sheet and it’s exactly what I wanted. Told me 3-4 weeks after the build it should be here. Super stoked!

There's a 2021 manual Off Road 6cyl Double Cab at the Reno, NV dealer for $37,431.

I am bowing out of the deposit I have on it today. Here's the details and link to the exact truck detail page at the dealer.

 

I'd been pestering my dealer for like 9 weeks straight. My salesperson texted me Friday when that one arrived in Reno and the previous person dropped out, so I just threw the deposit on it. But, my purchase from the 2nd Gen forums went through Monday, so now I don't need it.

I thought it was super dope that my salesperson hit me up the minute that someone else backed out of that 2021 truck (I had asked about it about 3 weeks prior).

edit - To be clear, I had not "ordered" that truck, I just was pestering my dealer about every manual Tacoma that popped up on the website. Someone had either ordered it or had put a deposit down on it already, and that person dropped off, so dealer called me and gave me a crack at it. My 2nd Gen purchase wasn't complete yet, so I put money on the 2021 as a backup plan. Then my 2nd Gen purchase completed, so I threw that 2021 info up here for you guys in case someone wants to swoop in.

Honestly, though, I'm new in the forums so I can't make a full post about it anywhere that would actually matter and put it in front of the right eyeballs, so I just hope that the person who is looking for a manual 2021 finds one of these comments.

 

Also Colorado, put money down on a car that was supposed to arrive on the 21st. They pushed it to the week of the 8th. Pretty irked as they stated that its status shouldve switched as of Monday and it hasn't, so I have no faith that the 8th will hold. I turned down two alternative trucks in the mean time thinking they were being honest on the delivery date. My upcoming time off is looking to be partially ruined thanks to dealers being assuring rather than honest.

 

I feel the same way.... I have had my date moved three times... this most recent time it moved up though!!!

I don't trust that it is going to happen, but at lest the date is moving the right direction.
