Fair enough. Some FI samples would still be cool collect data on. Not to find a fault, just cause data is cool.

Probably a close enough baseline with all the different samples they've collected from other 2GR's.

How many Magnuson folks you asked for oil samples?

Fair enough, I’ve got a couple blackstone containers laying around. I’ll collect one next time. I changed the oil already at 500 miles, and 3k on the turbos. I’m 1500/5000 until the next change. It’ll be a little while.

This isn't that. I'm not Hawking you at all. Sorry if that seems that way, it was genuinely coming from a place of curiosity. I won't keep commenting though. Again, Apologies

yea if you have already changed the oil from the first install then the next should be ok.
With a new engine, new parts being exposed to the oil system there is always that first time of excess stuff. Especially new engines / rebuilt engines / etc

I’m not worried, at 1500 my oil looks clean. I put in the Mobil1 5w30 20k mile stuff.

Nah, I’m on the 5k interval now. The 20k shit was on sale.

All said and done, I’ve about 5k on the turbos. I’m thinking/hoping, I’m a new tune and a smoke test away from just enjoying.

Just commenting here to say I agree with Mat on testing and change interval. Every 5000 miles for me with catch can, and no I have not submitted sample for testing and do not plan to.

He did drop the question in the Maggy thread. I sent a baseline for my engine in to Blackstone before doing the blower install.

    Yes, after I asked him.

If it's genuine curiosity to see data great. But from his history of posts, it's almost never the case, so I questioned it. He rarely, if ever has a genuine question and only comes around to personally harp on how bad I am.

So forgive me for not believing his posts.

    Interesting observation this morning.

I need more time to test properly but I happened to pay attention to it this morning on my drive to work and noticed that my active fuel economy bar, moving along on its scale, was actually higher at 80mph than at 70. Lol the opposite would obviously be true for N/A. Thoughts?

Each time I deliberately observed the active bar I ensured I was on a flat stretch, no hills to go up or down.

Maybe it's placebo but the truck is feeling subtly smoother following yesterday's oil change. happy honey badger

Fwiw, It was genuine and organic. It's not like anything would come back on your kit if someone sent a sample out anyway. And yes, I posted it there too so u didn't feel like I was baggin on you. It's just curiosity

I definitely think it could be a sweet spot. Only time will tell there.

Someone had a post showing their MPGs tracking along with temp. It was spooky, but that might be something to consider also, as it is a major driver on the n/a side.

It’s a thing for sure. My previous Audi S4 did better at 85mph than 75mph.
