Hey guys, So I bought some new OEM DRL Off Road Headlights for cheap on OfferUp to make some custom color matched headlights but I was also thinking of putting some LED projectors since the headlights will already be opened. I have tried to find some videos on youtube to see if anyone has ever done it but I cannot seem to find a video. What do you guys recommend or has anyone ever attempted to do it ? I have tried putting LED bulbs in the OEM projector but the lighting is horrible. I also do not want to spend $1000+ on some china LED headlights hence why I bought some OEM headlights off OfferUp. Any suggestions on which LED projectors to go with? Is it hard to do? What will I need to do? Do I need to cut anything out?

Just a retrofit, there's a few peeps on here that will do it for others and some that have tackled it themselves. It's not uncommon or anything in the world of vehicle modding. Currently, I'm looking at doing a retrofit for bi-led projectors in SR5 headlights, just looking for a cheap(ish) set of newer(ish) headlights lol. LED bulbs in those headlights are horrible because the projectors are made for halogens (there's entire threads on lighting in the garage section) As far as recommendations for LED projectors the morimoto bi-led seem to be well received and for the most part considered standard on whatever level it's measured, I really can't say as I'm just referring to whatever research I've done over the last few weeks about headlights. Is it hard to do? Having never done a retrofit myself but knowing me as a person, yes, it looks like there's a thousand different ways this could get messed up but it does not look overly difficult. Yes, you will have to do some cutting on the reflector to get the projector to fit into the headlight fixture.

Or you could just get OEM LED headlights if you wanted to go that route.

Do you know of the link where I can buy them? I know its going to be hard but I wouldn't mind attempting it.

Bi-LED: Morimoto M LED 2.0 (LHD) – Lightwerkz Global Inc

I would recommend spending some time doing research and what not, in that you'll come across the items you'll need (or think you'll need) but this is one place you can pick up the projectors

Tons of info can be had here Lighting | Tacoma World, specifically crashnburn80 threads about various headlights from halogen mods to led bulbs are insanely helpful in understanding lighting on the road.

If you really want LED projectors you could go with the Morimoto MLED 2.0 and add a Profile high lens 2.0 in the high beam spot. Once you crack open the permaseal on the OEM lights it's easy from there. There's lots of BHLM threads on TW.

Here's what I did with my SR5. I went with the RX-350 bi-xenon in the low beam and Profile High Lens 2.0 RGBW in the high beam spot.
