Evening/morning/afternoon all. Once again, this truck is absolutely perfect for everything I throw at it. Rescued this gem from wasting (the rest of the way) away in my uncle's driveway, hauled it up from NJ yesterday. A bit heavy for my poor old leaf springs but it perfectly in the 6ft bed with the tailgate closed, once I popped off the saddlebags. Wish I got a pic. She needs some love and surgery, a couple years of sitting has clogged the carbs up solid, and the generous helping of Seafoam I added opened the floodgates for fuel to leak from places that yet leave me confused. But what pissed me off the most was the shitty Harbor Freight ramp that buckled upon unloading, causing it to slip off the side and destroy the belly fairing. Luckily I was able to sorta guide it down and it landed wheels-down. Grr.

I hear good things about the Kawi Concours. A 1000cc 4-banger with shaft drive should fit my mission perfectly, especially with saddlebags so I no longer have to strap 2-3 bags to the backrest of my Shadow 750. My weekly 400-mile rides will be much more enjoyable I think. (and less thirsty)

    Sup will?
I was toying with getting a cruiser or naked bike for several years then I had kids and they need me more than I need a bike so that ship sailed.
What do you do on overnights?

    Sup man,
I run satellite communications, but when nothin's broke it gets pretty boring lol. I'd love to try out a dualsport/supermoto. I love all bikes, each has their place for different kinds of riding. Cruisers and comfort fit me well up here in rural Maine.

    Nice,
I work with satellite and cellular communications as well.
I’m way too close to metrowest Boston to chance it with a bike, even though I live in the suburbs, people don’t pay enough attention to others. We’re heading up to Acadia in mid June for a week; it’ll be nice to get away from the hustle and bustle.

My boys just got a hand-me-down Honda CRF 50 so I may have to grab something small to keep up with them on my wife’s grandfather’s trails.

Yeah, I hear ya. I grew up in NJ and actually got my license while stationed in Japan. Baptism by fire is the only way to describe learning how to ride in such densely populated cities lol. Really cements the mantra of "always ride like everyone around you is about to do something stupid/try and kill you". I've had my share of close calls.

Acadia is pretty sweet, I live right near there, a little farther up rt 1. Familiar with the area? I can offer plenty of food and sightseeing suggestions if not

furthest north I’ve been is Portland back in college for a Sea Dogs game.
We’re staying at the KOA, I’m kinda just along for the ride and going with the flow of what the extended family has planned as I am most definitely not a camper/ntl Parker. Gonna need to stock up on cbd before then between dueling personalities and being with the kids / in-laws for a week straight.

Haha sounds like a barrel of fun, good thing you can't throw a rock without hitting 3-5 CBD shops around here. At the very least make sure to check out Mainely Meats for bbq and ribs worth killing for. It's in Town Hill, minutes from the KOA. Scenic Flights of Acadia (at Bar Harbor airport, little red shack on rt3) is also just down the road, if an aerial tour of the park is something you/they'd be interested in. Real nice people, I did a big chunk of my flight training there. Lots of great microbrewery restaurants in bar harbor as well, but I don't explore that area much, gets pretty crowded during busy season.

awesome, thank you for the bbq Rec will definitely have to check that out. I think we’re going to do a puffin tour and we booked a sunrise at Cadillac and reserved Abel’s. Dunno what else we’re doing. Was told by koa not to bother bringing the boys fishing poles as the Seals snag most of the fish along the coast.
Won’t do flights as I have an issue with heights.

Haha fair enough. Cadillac is a must-see. The views get more and more and more breathtaking the further up the mountain you drive, and on a clear day you can see past Ellsworth from the summit. I still haven't managed to get there for sunrise though, so you'll be in for a treat.

If you visit the Schoodic section of the park, on an adjacent peninsula, you'll pass right by The Pickled Wrinkle too. Excellent burgers, and great food all around. As well as my favorite ice cream stand next door. Killer soft-serve.

I'll quit drowning ya with suggestions now, lmao. Hope you all have a blast.

I thank you immensely for these recommendations as I have had zero input into this trip, I’m beyond glad to be more educated with the local fare and things to do.

Two hours to go. I’m all done with my work orders. I could clean up my area real good or bring my Tacoma in to install my Expedition Essentials 3TPAM

Nice, same here. Super slow night, just waiting around for 6am. Trying not to fall down too many taco/motorcycle rabbit holes while sifting through forums lol.
