Hello all! So I save up some cash for skid plates and it looks like I picked the wrong time to try and upgrade my truck! Does anyone know of a place with a set of skid plates in stock ready to ship?

Also if I had to get creative could I just use a "Pro" skid plate and buy another piece to cover the TC?

Any advice would be appreciated as I really want to start wheeling this Summer.

I ordered mine from CBI they said 6 weeks got them in just over 3, and they worth the wait in my opinion. All ready saved me some dough on the last trip out.

$280 on Amazon for an unbranded version.
    https://www.amazon.com/KUAFU-Protec...tacoma+skid+plate&qid=1622027850&sr=8-2-spons

I installed this exactly one a month ago and have had zero issues. Looks like these ones on amazon might just be the ones that don't pass QC and get sold out the back door. Mine had some rough edges and metal burrs in the paint. But I painted it black anyway, plus it's a skid plate so I don't really care if the edges are rough or smooth.

Yea this is the front half and you can find these all over the place. I need the 2nd part that covers the transfer case. It looks like you should be able to find a piece of sheet steel and bolt it to the frame rails but who knows. Some of these actually only cover the portion up to the pipe crossover but the rear of the TC is still exposed. I drive super rocky trails so it's a must have for off road.

Stay away from the Amazon and eBay knockoff plates. There are plenty of stories on here of people making that mistake and then having instant regret! Check out places like: parts.toyota.com with code “freeship”… where I got my OEM PRO skid plate. Think it was like $340 and at my house in a few days. If you want an aftermarket plate, well like you said… your gonna wait, so bite the bullet and get on a list now. Good luck, hope you get something soon!
