Porter's Page!

I’ve got more toys to play with than some kids, but I’m just gonna chew on this empty Gatorade bottle...

 

My dad is considering adopting another dog and I am all for it, but my mom isn’t ready for another dog yet (she was still grieving over the death of Mandy and didn’t want another dog back in March 2020, but my dad and I overruled her and we got Porter about a week before the COVID lockdown started); The same VP from work who got us Porter (he and his wife foster dogs for Home At Last Rescue) brought an 8-week old female Lab mix named Meadow over to our house today. Our coworker thought she would make a good playmate for Porter, and while she was friendly, she was very shy and didn’t seem particularly interested in Porter. They were sorta playing here, but that’s the most attention she paid to him...

Meadow was found as a stray in South Carolina, and while she was not the least bit mean, she was very shy; It took her a while to warm up to me and my parents and she didn’t wag her tail once. Our coworker and his wife said it took two days for her to wag her tail for them!

 

Once Meadow warmed up to my parents and me, she was fine, but she still seemed unsure of how to react to all of these new people...

 

It does not seem like Meadow is the right dog for us, but any type of social contact is always good for a rescue dog!
