    That varies per the individual and use. Is it 1.5" of wheel travel or shock? I'm assuming wheel travel but we all know about assumptions.

    You're also making a generalized statement about being "leaps and bounds better than stock," when the reality is that a well tuned stock travel shock will do most of what 90% of people out there want to do. Do you have LT on your truck yet? If I remember correctly you were window shopping in the JD thread to fit 37s o_O

    So your solution to limited travel is limiting travel even more? Limit straps stretch so you will have to "strap" it early and keep in mind you can't replicate wheel/inertia forces applied when driving so you're going to loose even more travel that what the CV will allow.

    me and Brian’s convo is different than this threads purpose. I’m not trying to get someone to choose one over the other. I’m saying the JD +2.25 will have more travel than my current mid travel set up even if I have to limit it a small amount due to using different CVs.

    I get that people want to spare no expense on gaining every little bit of travel they can. I don’t think it’s wrong to prioritize wants and budget accordingly. I am debating if it’s worth the cost right now for me or something to hold off on for later.

    I have been very happy with my MT setup. I say I beat on it pretty good and it keeps going. A good MT TC kit can pull almost 10 and the +2 pulls 11.5 so it's not a big difference. It def needs more valving to be done but that part of tuning it. I have it set up with bypasses upfront and bypasses in the rear but will be swapping to an LT +2 in the front as I got a deal on it and width wise I already run wider offset wheels (or you need to run spacers to clear) so in the end, the total width will only be +2 wider about not +4. Also I could use the extra clearance/height in the front on the +2 but base on the maintenance of a full MT UCA/LCA it's pretty much the same as a LT kit on a regular basis minus the axle component.

    I think if its in your budget and you can swing it i would get the 934. If you cant, limit strap the front and do the steering upgrade instead :thumbsup: That's what i would probably do.

    I’m going to study up on it. I try to make informed decisions. I’ve spent less on LT than I save for retirement each month. Maybe I can unclench my tight ass and spring for some 934s :fingerscrossed:

    As much as I love the idea of +2.25 LT i really think i’m going to stick with my original plan of going with a solid Mid-Travel from you guys. I think it would be dumb to go straight to LT with out having a solid MT first. I can’t imagine not liking the MT and if i somehow feel like it isn’t what i’m looking for i will go LT in the future. Thanks for your input!

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..
    wanna buy a mid travel ome bp51 setup with 20k pavement miles and no rough stuff off road. Fire road queen. It comes with archive hangers, brake lines etc...all the take offs before I went LT. save yourself some money so when you go LT its not as painful.

    @desertjunkie760 Thank you so much for your advice! I think you’re exactly right and really helped me make up my mind to go with my original plan. I’ll definitely be getting a Mid-Travel kit through accutune and have them tune my shocks accordingly to my driving style. I think it would be stupid to got straight to LT without having a MT kit first. I really think it will do great with what i want!
    The JD long travel sounds so nice but it really may be overkill for me and comes with the drawbacks of LT. I can always move up to that in the future if i want, but i definitely need to run the MT for a few years before i make the decision to go LT. I feel it will be perfect for my style and there will be no need to go LT

    @socalexpeditions I’m so happy to hear how will your Mid Travel did compared to the +2 and low speeds. I’m definitely planning on MT like i mentioned and you guys really helped make up my mind. My whole reason for the thread was to see how the MT vs +2 LT compared in low-mid speeds and hearing your experience really helped.
    (also i’ve watched some of your youtube videos and love them)

    @desertjunkie760 I forgot to ask, you don’t think that particular setup in the rear could keep up with a front +2.25? I don’t want to go SUA or a bed cage so i feel like that is what is best for my personal preferences. Again can’t thank you enough for your input

    After doing some more homework, the 934’s are a no brainer considering the improvements to strength and travel. It’s not as much of a difference in cost compared to CVJs as I thought either.

    Simply put, no. You have to define “keep up” as expectations are subjective but from what I’ve seen that rear setup pairs well with an MT front but you’ll find it will easily be outrun by spirited driving.

    @desertjunkie760 @socalexpeditions @kasnerd @Brian422

    If anyone is curious where I came up with the factory cv's wouldn't limit travel, it's on the JD Fab website under the +2.25 kit. That's why it was news to me that it would and why I wasn't considering 934's for anything more than as a stronger axle.
