Only immediately after a tune flash.

This is what OVT said a while ago:

    "Regarding AT / LV Resets:

Resetting LV / AT after a flash = Not required
Resetting LV / AT after a flash = Is not harmful, and may be done at your discretion
Resetting LV / AT after a flash = Should be done IF you have drivability issues (very odd shifting behavior, very odd engine behavior, or you hear any knock / detonation)
Resetting LV / AT after a flash = May make the truck run noticeably rougher for the first few miles (especially the transmission)
Resetting LV / AT should NOT be done just because you feel like doing it.
Resetting the LV / AT should NOT be done if you have not recently flashed.

If you Reset LV / AT right after a flash = The first 25mi to 50mi, the trucks shifting characteristics can be ignored.

If you Reset LV / AT or even flashed the truck and are making judgements without putting AT LEAST 25mi on the truck, you are not getting an accurate representation of how the truck will perform."

Clear TCU is only for ATs.

Reset ECU Learned Values. The same as Reset ECU.

Reset AT Learned Values. The same as Clear TCU.

DTC is Diagnostic Trouble Codes. Those are reset by any OBD reader or by a battery disconnect. I believe a tune flash automatically resets the DTCs.

Doing the DTC and LV Resets all at the same time completely clears all learned values giving the Taco a blank slate to learn and adapt.

    No worries!

I recently discovered that DTC reset will not clear Permanent codes. Yes, it will turn off the MIL if the fault condition no longer exists, but only a few (3 IIRC) drive cycles will actually clear the DTC from the ECM. I read that in Techstream!

Yes. There are layers to DTCs.

What Is coming in 2.0 ultimate? Is it going to be like even more hp and torque than the current 2.0

2.0 ult will probably make user-edited tunes obsolete is my bet from everything we've been hearing lol

Time for my tri-yearly check in on this thread. Attempting to keep up with the news on this stuff is impossible if you don’t check near daily, and then anything more than a week means you’ll never figure out wtf is going on... so my apologies if I’m repeating something others have already asked lately but....

last time I checked in I had to upgrade to vFtuner, flash my ECU to 04b04, then I was able to flash the latest (at the time) 2.0 tune pack.

what’s this now I hear about 2.0 ultimate? And something about map switching ? And now that there’s vF tuner are you guys running custom tunes or changing anything, or just stick with whatever Mat comes up with?

again, sorry, just super lost trying to catch up.

historically @tonered or @MOC221_ shows up to set me straight so I’m summoning them now

That is the latest at the moment. Ultimate is coming.

You can try your hand at editing 04B04 MapSwitching if you would like with the latest version.

thanks tonered. Just wanted to make sure there wasn’t some other news I wasn’t aware of.

I like the idea of doing that but with literally any of the settings in vF tuner I’m like a monkey with an iPad. I’d rather wait it out until those that are smarter than I figure something out.
    Thanks !!

    You're welcome!

Yes. I am not comfortable with the maps that require changes for MapSwitching to work properly. @OVTune said that the Ultimate tunes will have baseline edited MapSwitching.
