And according to Mike Sweers infinite wisdom, keep drums in the rear.

haha I'm mainly looking at it for the sheer weight of my truck (also I already have had it for a couple of years but never installed) the folks I know that do have it are fans. the main thing is the e brake is not as big but couldn't see much other bad reason for the setup. Sometimes stopping is scary right now haha

I'm happy on rear drums too but at 6,000lbs I think drums are the better choice.

Question about the fuel pump upgrade:

I ordered the AEM 320LPH E85 upgrade kit from URD, but they sent me the 340LPH pump. Free $20 upgrade for me I guess, but is there any downside to running the highest rated pump they offer? At this point I have all the other engine mods done, and about to put on a 2.8 pulley. Only thing I wasn't considering is the 7th injector. I don't track the truck, just offroading in CO.

Mostly wondering cause the paper work said "legal in CA only for racing vehicles and should never be used on public highways" but that's just CA being CA, right? :-D

    Thanks!

7th injector is not CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved. You’re fine to use it here.

    Man I’m just messing with 3rd gen’s in a 2nd gen thread.

I personally carry just under 6000 lb and I’m happy with stop tech. Kept drums in the rear since I’m not towing or plan in carrying more weight.

No problem running it, but they did the same to me and the 340 they sent me was not e85 rated, so if you're planning on tuning for that down the road, may want to get a different one. Mine was a black top though, i think the green top ones are rated for ethanol.

commyfornia doesnt want any fun. its only a restriction if you cant find a way around. nobody can check your fuel pump. go for the goods!

You being in high elevation ColoRADo should be on a 2.6 pulley and forcing as much air in the engine as possible!

I was just looking at that too. I only ordered the green top because it was recommended from the front page. Not planning on running ethanol, but ya never know...really as long as I got my monies worth i'm ok with the blacktop 340.

Hmm....I haven't installed the 2.8 pulley yet, but it also said the 7th injector was required with 2.7 and below. That extra cost may be too much atm. Guess I have some more research to do!

On second look, this is a cheaper pump than the one I ordered so I'm going to email them and get the right one sent to me.

Who is IT? You definitely do NOT need a 7th injector for a 2.7 pulley at 5000ft elevation.

depends on elevation and driving needs with specific truck. an afr gauge will tell you when youre in a sour place. i personally ran a 2.5 pulley for a while at sea lvl with only good times. im a modest modder....ask anyone:D
