I don’t know that area! Don’t think I can make it home in one day if I go that way.

 

We will get you to I-81S. From there, its a straight shot (at least to Charlotte). Total says 9.5 hours and no tolls. Its better than 95, at least more scenic

On my phone this is the best I can do.. Give me a bit to get into work and get a better map

dang that is a solid sore ass ride subd for when you start a thread, have you looked into tw express?? would be sweet if you can find a fellow tw member with a trailer who you can hitch a hitchhike tow with

even if its only one state, a tacoma tow through VA or NC would be pretty cool

 

@w.adventures have you considered taking the bike on the train? i know you can load out of D.C. with a car and it takes you down to FL

Thought about it. Also thought about taking the family on a road trip. But @BkerChuck gave me inspiration. Looks like it will be about a 600 mile ride and a plane ticket was cheap.

 

@uurx is this map better? No tolls, not 95, (although 81 is a boring drive, its better than dealing with 18 wheelers. Its still 65 and an interstate). Once we get to Thurmont MD, I will probably split off with @LocoLocal unless you want to come into Leesburg VA, and then we can ride out to Winchester VA to get you back to 81.

No iron butt ride for me on this trip. Have something going on following weekend and can't get hall pass for both, keeping the peace you know. I will tag along for a little though.

 

What about south through DE and MD then cross bay tunnel bridge to VA Beach? Nice ride, scenic.

I dont have or want rain gear. I suppose I could ride in a poncho.

If I am caught in the rain, nothing that I can do. But if its raining when Im about to start ill either try to wait it out, or bail
