One of the problems that I see is the lack of connection that veterans get when they transition out whether they get medically retired and something happens to them in their career or they serve their contract and the ETS out. There are many organizations out there that try to bridge the gap and make a connection therefore making a difference in veterans lives often too many vets resolved to drinking and drugs and ultimately take their lives this is a pandemic. If we can make a difference in each other's lives it's just that half inch more that could make or break someone's life.
I'll leave you gentleman with this a quote from Hemingway War educates the senses, calls into action the will, perfects the physical constitution, brings men into such swift and close collision in critical moments that man measures man."
Regardless of if you deployed or seen combat we all served under this flag for our nation that we are the lesson 1% of the population does so.

    Gents,

I'll be camping and teaching some of my guys climbing basics out at Frenchmans Coulee this weekend. Join as you wish. Dispersed camping is available with a Discovery Pass. There are two pit toilets for the area. No water. We will be out there late Thursday night through Monday morning. No climbing necessary if you just want to come hang out at camp to enjoy beverages and fellowship.

I'm not sure about cell signal out there, but send me a PM for my phone number if you are coming out, or find what will likely be the only cavalry blue taco. I have FRS as well.

New member to TW, but been living in WA state for about three years now. Let me know if you guys ever want to link up to do some outdoor stuff. My group is majority composed of other vets who enjoy doing outdoor activities and getting some training in.

    Cheers.

Bad ass! Welcome! We haven't officially had a date yet. But the weather is getting better and better. Perhaps after the 4 day. My wife is up visiting and I'm gonna throw out a date for next weekend.

Well as the Op, someone else should step up and make this event work, I will no longer be in the area as of 7/12. Again, sorry this event did not come into fruition. Someone else should organize this and see to it that it is carried out. Don't forget pics!

I think this idea died, especially since I retired and went back home to Nv. I don’t think anyone else took or or will follow through…..

Oh yeah! Since I got out I have no purpose or use to return to JBLM (yuck). Maybe mods should lock thread or someone else can take it over?

Well as the newest member here I don’t have any experience with putting meetups or trail rides together but I’m willing to give it a shot with some guidance...you game for that?

lf folks are interested then chime in here and let’s finger out an easy starter meet...

Just talked with the guys at the Overland Truck Store in Bremerton and mentioned the possibility of a meetup and they immediately volunteered their shop in Gorst (Bremerton) as a location...
Only problem I see is that they have a nice showroom with LOTS of OME, ARB and all the usual suspects...could be costly ;-p
So is anyone else interested in a meet and greet to discuss more active meets later?
