Is there a location where one can access proper wiring schematics for late model 3rd Gen tacos?
On-line view or down load would be great.

I'm not sure if this is open or closed information?

To be more specific, I am looking for an "unused" 30 amp always fused circuit to pull out of the relay box. I do not want to add a breakout panel for just one added line.

I can get you a power distribution diagram if you post your engine size but I doubt there's gona be any unused 30A fuses. if you want a 30A always on circuit just get a 30A fuse holder and go right to the battery or the main terminal at the underhood junction box, if you want it to be switched then add a 30A relay and connect the control side to a switched ignition source and the load side to your 30A fuse.

Check TIS, join there for a few days and download all your VIN specific schematics. It'll pay for itself 10 fold if you ever have to do any wiring in the future of have to troubleshoot.

If the OP doesn't have towing package or plan to tow, the battery charge relay fuse or the break controller fuse is a good one to use. It actually looks like in the 3rd gens it is a 40 amp fusible link.

Another option, if you live in an area of warm climate you can cannibalize one of the PTC relays and wire that up if your truck has that feature. This feature seems kind of useless to me anyhow. It's like some soccer mom complained her heater took too long to get warm in the winter so they wasted money adding this feature.

Bonus is that the coil of the PTC heater is switched from the AC amplifier so it's easy to tap into that and just add a switch in to energize the aux loads you are wishing to add.

Good find, too bad Toyota doesn't offer upfitter switches in their trucks like Ford, GM, and Dodge do, it would make adding accessories so much easier and cleaner.

it is a shame, they are not geared towards adding any aftermarket accessories and having it look factory. Hell, my '02 Ford came with wire to activate idle up for PTO controls, a customer access wire with keyed +12V for switching relays or accessories, and 4 "customer access wires" that went through the firewall so you wouldn't have to drill a hole yourself. 50k for a 3rd gen and you get bare bones IMO.
