Personally I carry a couple of ABC dry chems in my bed with my fire gear mainly for using if I come up on a wreck where someone is trapped and the car is on fire. Let’s face it if you are driving down the road and your engine catches fire, by the tine you realize it and pull over it will have a good start. Also, how many people would remember to pull the hood latch when getting out or even try to lift the hood. I always tell people to focus on getting everyone out and getting clear of the car. You never know what is going to go pop. When I was trying the Element, the hood strut popped and I reacted. Even in full gear and using an SCBA things like that will throw you off. Later in the training, we had set off the whole interior for some new guys to practice with a hose line. You should have seen them jump when the passenger air bag deployed.

Oh and keep a BC extinguisher in your kitchen (as a primary extinguisher) in case of a stove or oven fire. The ABC’s get their “A” rating due to melting. The BC stays a powder and you just wipe it away vice having to scrape.

    By my math, $150.

I bought a cheap Chinese knock off as one of my first mods. That was 3 years ago and it still looks great. I did buy the OEM garnish and never had any problems with the TSS.

Thanks for the reply. The only reason I haven’t bought the cheap eBay one is because of the garnish. Wasn’t sure if the grill had the place for it to attach. And they are sold separately

I have a good friend who does serious hiking. Not walks on trails, like I do. He parks his truck for several days at a time, packs a backpack, food and a tent and just goes. His answer to why he drives a Toyota, I found instructional:

"After you are gone for several days and you get back in the truck there is that moment of nervousness when you turn the key and wait for the truck to start up. I've owned a lot of cars / trucks in 50 years and when you find yourself out in the middle of nowhere and you turn that key, you are always glad you have a Toyota."

Edit: Just don't accidentally leave a light on. :)

Got my truck tinted, put on black badges and swapped out to painted bumper caps today. Just waiting on my Trd pro tail lights now.

Silly question: are gloves required for LED lights?

I know they're suggested for headlights to avoid accidentally leaving oils behind, but was unsure about tail lights. So far I've just wiped them off with my shirt when done, but would like to know for sure if anyone has info.

Icon 3 leaf AAL and eibach shocks installed. I liked the factory 1” rake the truck had, so should’ve left the overload in, because now I only have 1/4 to 1/2 inch of rake. Lift is officially complete and will do Alignment tomorrow. If anybody wants an off-road suspension setup with only 2,500 or so street miles, let me know.

That's a horrible idea. What time?

Those Pro tails are the best looking (including third party) IMO, pop some bright new LEDs in there and it's a killer combo.

YES! Reliability is HUGE when you're in the backcountry. I know that exact feeling...especially when you're driving an older truck.
