You know what sucks? When I lived back in Ohio I used a super small local credit union to buy my first say 6 vehicles through. All auto loans paid on time and in most cases paid off early. Not one reported to any of the credit agencies. I would have had that @Bannerman credit score by now.

Any tips for refinancing our home?

Anything I should look for in a lender or things I need to know that might be not common knowledge regarding the whole process?

haven’t decided yet. I’ve got 250k Amex points I can use to cash in on a hotel or flight though. Prefer not to fly with kids however.

 

Nothing really comes to mind other than some lenders offer more options than a 15 year and 30 year. When I refinanced my last house to go from 4.5 to 3.9% I wasn’t comfortable with the 15 year payment so I did a 20 year with Quicken. Still knocked 6 years off the loan, had a payment I was comfortable with and saved $60K in lifetime interest....until I sold the place a few years later.
