I just used mine to cut aluminum tubes.

 

I cut PVC pipe and cut copper pipe with the right blade

 

I just throw an old blade in for pvc.

 

I work for the company that makes all that pipe.

 

Nothing functional really...just the white powdery residue that just sticks to everything and seems nearly impossible to remove.

 

yeah that sucks for sure

 

The same reason a dog never makes it to the tile to vomit.

 

That white powder is calcium in the pipe.

 

Removed cabinet mounted microwave and installed a stainless backsplash and hood vent.

Looks a lot like our remodeled kitchen in the house we sold (sad face). Even the counter choice. That is quartz, yes?

 

Did you go to a countertop microwave or relocate somewhere else?

 

Not sure what it is to be honest, was already installed when we bought the house.

We just deleted the micro all together. We don't really use it and I can't stand counter top appliances (other than coffee pot).

 

My basement plumbing has a sewage ejector that was installed by a "professional" when the house was built. Note how there are no unions to allow maintenance and how they left 1/3 of the sump cover under the concrete.

I have a water softener that runs in the middle of the night and that check valve wakes the whole house with a tremendous BANG!


So I decided to un-hillbilly the install. Here I've already installed the soft close check valve and jack hammered the concrete back to allow full access to the sump.


In order to get the sump lid above the concrete I bought a sump extender.



The shoddy workmanship wasn't just on the outside. Here's my test of the correctly adjusted over flow alarm. The "pro" had set it just inches from a huge "OH SHIT" moment.


This is the finished product. How do you think my work compares to the pro?

Had the same at my house. I changed a lot of it including the check valve you had and put the same soft close one in. I put a second battery backup sump on next to it for safety. The main one failed a few years back and I was lucky enough to see it before it came over the top. Problem was the switch on the pump was broke but you have to take the pump out or have the water lower than the pump to change it. So I bought a new pump which the switch is separate from the pump. Do yourself a favor and buy a second switch for that pump and hang it on the wall next to the sump.

Where did you find the soft close valve and sump extender?

I am not a plumber by trade, so not sure where to find the real plumbing parts.

 

We poured our foundation walls and columns today with a 28m pumper .

16 yards of 25mpa / 10mm aggregate

 

Cut the siding and mounted custom blocks to hang the light fixtures. So awesome that the PO saved all the various stains and paints for the house. Looks pretty good to me.

 

I'm not a plumber either, but in my experience common sense and reading the code goes a long way. I tried to find the soft close valve locally and failed miserably. Most of the counter help here had never heard of such a thing and I got tired of teaching them their job.



That is a really sad statement when calling the pro's plumbing supply houses. So, I went to my old standby https://www.supplyhouse.com They seem to have a lot of stuff that can't be found in my area. The part number for the valve is Zoeller 30-0244.

I found the sump pit extender by looking up the manufacture's website, then googling the part number for the extender. The best price was on Amazon.

 

Looks good. I save all the color cards from the box store and keep in an envelope where I store my paint cans, I write the room and sheen on the color. I leave in place for the next to find. Something I always wish was common practice when I want to touch up a wall.
