Toy Tec Spacer Lift

OK so i know i am proboly gonna get bashed on here but ill ask any way...

If i get a toytec 3" spacer lift with the block in the rear. and the spider traxx wheel spacer and the cb drop kit am i gonna need anything else???

Am i gonna need 4 spacers or just two??? i plan on running 285/70/17 on my stock trd sport wheels. i have a trd sport prerunner dbl cab long bed.. i was gonna get the ready lift but i was steered away from it even tho its the same one toyota uses... please help!!!!

Sorry i had to. You are going to need 4 spacers that's if your talking about wheel spacers.

 

yeah i am talkin bout the wheen spacer thanks am i forgetting anything else? im new to this whole lift thing

 

I think you pretty much got it figured out but why not go ahead and get some billlies and coils and AAL or some other assortment of lift components so that you wont be changing up everything down the road?

 

How are you going to use your truck?

The harder you wheel it, the less happy you'll be with the Toytec spacer lift. That being said, according to Toytec, he sells more spacer lifts than all others combined. So someone is using them and is presumably happy with them. Lots of lifted trucks are for looks and never leave the pavement. One spacer goes between the strut mount and the strut, the other goes inside the strut at the top of the spring, so four spacer pieces for the front suspension - plus your additional parts (blocks and longer u bolts) for the rear.

Now, onto tires. To run those tires on your stock factory sport rims, you'll probably need wheel spacers (e.g. spidertrax) This is because the wider tire will likely rub on your upper control arm. That's a totally different animal than suspension spacers - they go between the hub mounting surface and the wheel. And yeah, you need four of those too, one per wheel.

Finally, you're modding your truck away from stock right? Modding has the potential to create problems. Vibrations -likely. CV Boot and U-joint wear faster than normal - likely. VSC problems - unlikely but possible. Trimming plastic inner wheelwell to create tire space - almost certain. If that's OK with you, it's OK with us. But don't come back whining about problems you created by lifting your truck and say no one warned you. Pay your money, take your chances. No whining.

And finally finally - this is the short form. Read some of the stickied threads at the top of the "suspension and lifts" forum, and the "tires and wheels" forums. They'll give you much more info on lifting your truck and fitting larger tires.

 

lift spacers really arnt as bad as people say, some will say it cause damage to this or that, but do you know how they where driven, no....that being said somepeople really abuse there truck then blame the damage on the spacer. Im not saying that they are great, just not as bad as everyone says.

why not spend the little extra $$ and go with Bilsteins or OME?

 

x2 i just ordered the 5100's and eibach coils for bout $40 more than my full spacer kit costed me!

Thankyou guys for all the help.. I never go off road mudding or anything the biggest reason i am doing this is for the looks plus my truck is 2wd so for me to go offroad makes no sense to me bc i couldnt go half the places you guys with 4wd can go. on to the bilstein ? i though about the billies but i am worried about the height i want to be leveled out all the way around.. i like the feel of a vehicle that sits a little higher and i did the whole big rim thing just starting to get bored with the look so i figured go the lift. route im pretty positive i am going with the set up that i stated just have to buy the parts in segments proboly gonna order my tires and lift sometime this week... but cant put anything on til i get the spacer which spidertraxx is out can i order from anywere else???

 

Bilsteins will level the truck out. Spacers will cause your coils to sagg prematurely over time and you will end up with less lift. Also if you go with a 3" spacer you will need aftermarket uca's to align your truck properly and put less stress on your ball joints.
