In addition to whichever firearm I'm carrying, these two are always with me.

Yes, that’s how CA works. You can only list three guns because you have to qualify with the guns you carry. You can swap out but you need to qualify with the new gun and submit a revision to your permit. Then they print you a new one with the new gun added.

I have found the 365XL and blackpoint very comfortable and it is adjustable for cant and depth.

A P365 with XL frame is in my rotation too. I find that configuration is the most comfortable for me.

P938 Legion & Colt officer's 1911. I lean more toward the Colt, but the Sig is more comfy during the summer heat.

    Seems like the place.

So, I winged a small deer in my Tacoma a few weeks back. I turned around and went back to put an end to it's misery but all I had was the little carry KelTec P3AT I've had for many years. Point blank skull shot and the poor thing just looked at me as it was bleeding out. I put the second round through its eye socket and that worked. So now I am doubting the ability of this little piece. I'd like to keep the new one pocket friendly as well and the next step up would be a 9mm. So I make a pilgrimage of the local shops to get a feel for what is readily available nowadays and then come back home to do some additional digging. I want the most bang for the size but don't want my pants sagging either and don't want to have to holster carry it on my belt or under the arm. Scrolling through Hornady's ballistic .pdf, the 9mmLuger CD rounds are better than the .380acp by 130ft/lbs point blank. Yet the .45acp is only 3ft/lbs better than the 9mmLuger. But the .40cal is 70 more than the 9mm at 400ft/lbs point blank. Finding a .40cal carry piece the size I want is not going to happen. So I defaulted to the 9mm search and have narrowed down a few choices: KelTec PF9, Sig Sauer P365, and Ruger EC9s. I would get a Kahr CM45 if any of the shops had one but I won't be ordering one. I do know the p365 is at several of the shops I visited so it looks like it'll be next to join the horde. Then I stumbled across the Double Tap.....

Thoughts and comments are welcome. Should be worth noting I carry the P3AT in my backpocket using a 'holster' that prints like a wallet. I have actually pulled it twice when confronted by a would be mugger in Lafayette, LA and once in New Orleans when street beggar would not leave my pregnant wife, 6yo, and myself alone. It looks like I reach for my wallet and their eyes light up but then I produce a pistol and all of the sudden "we cool".
