2021 Cement DCSB OR MT , only extras I wanted were mudflaps, bed mat, and all weather floor mats.

Talked with one of the local dealers on Feb 12th and agreed on a price ($2016 under MSRP + whatever Toyota incentive was available
at the time. The Toyota incentive turned out to be $500)

Sales guy told me the truck would be on the lot by the end of March at the latest.

Asked for update on Feb 24th, was told the delivery date was now the end of April.

Asked for an update on March 25th, and was given a delivery window of May 21st to May 26th

Delivery window was updated on April 16th to May 17th to May 21st.

Truck arrived at dealer on May 20th, I picked it up on May 21st.

I didn't bother asking for explanations for each of the delays, I could tell they really didn't know.

Order submitted first week in March.
First told end of April, then middle of May now being told between 15-21 of June.
It is what it is and yeah it would be nice to have already had it but it's not like I can do anything about it.
I ordered an SR5, ACLB, 4x4, Barcelona Red, 6-cyl. and some assorted accessory doo-dads.
It's my first new truck since 1984 (most likely my last) so it's all good as long I eventually get it.
Dealer did send me the VIN so I know when it was built and he called me couple of days ago and said they have the window sticker on hand and it matches my order exactly.
    So, the wait continues...;)

Was you truck built in Guanajuato, Mexico? If so, could be on the same train as mine which is currently en route to Kansas City, MO with onward truck hauler movement to dealer site ETA 15-21 Jun.

It was built there and I'm just south of Kansas City so here's hoping our trucks are on that train/hauler!

That sounds pretty close to right. After reading all of this 45 page thread and dealing with my own experience (deposit 9/21, build 11/6, delivery 12/11) I think 11-13 weeks is close to average even now. The people being jacked around did not intercept a true dealer allocation. “ordering” is non-existent. You either buy from the dealer allocation, which the dealer can tweak (color and port options, but not drivetrain, premium and tech) or you are depending on an empty promise from the dealer who’s hoping to find one and trade another dealer for it. 11-13 weeks is about it for a true allocation.

Ordered a TRD OR 4x4 MT with premium, adv tech, and LED lights on February 13th, was told a build date of May 26th and the temp VIN stopped working then. So it should be getting built but I haven't gotten an update from dealer on real VIN or delivery date. It was built in Mexico so hoping there isn't a huge delay on delivery but not holding my breath.

You think that because its physically close, but mine was built some time ago. The delay has been specifically with delivery.

Ordered mine on May 4th. Was told I would wait at least 120 days.

I ordered an Army Green TRD Off-Road Premium Manual.

Call me pessimistic, but part of me still doesn't believe it's going to happen. With my luck, I'll probably get pushed to a 2022 and manuals and army green will both be gone lol.

Crazy enough, my exact build with a lot of add-ons was nearby and not reserved, and the dealership was trying to force me in to $6k+ in upgrades I didn't want. So... because I wouldn't pay the premium, I get to wait (shrug).

Finally got the call today that the truck came in! 4x4, AC cab, M/T, trd sport, voodoo blue. Ordered in January and was told the end of April, then the middle of May. After that figured they didn't know what was going on. Then randomly today get a call that it was on the truck and should be here by the end of business day? Sure enough 3pm the truck is in. How did they not know the truck was coming and call me a week out? These chuckle heads don't have a clue. Either way, going to pick it up Monday morning! So long story short, just under 5 months waiting.

I ordered mine in mid May, and was quoted June 20, from what I can tell mine comes from Guanajuato, Mexico. Any idea if this truck is coming on that truck? I currently live in North Carolina. Or is it a different path? Just curious thanks.

I believe trucks bound for the east coast go by ship from the east side of Mexico and those going to the western United States go by boat from the west side of Mexico. So, 2 different routes.

Yeah, that's why I'm not holding my breath. At least I know it's been built and I'm getting the truck I wanted. We agreed on an OTD price back in February which is looking good given the recent trend!

Emailed dealership 4wks after deposit for an update. They'd been alloted the same truck/packages but in a SB instead of LB this month. However, they'll have a build date for me on Wednesday.

Just ordered a stripped down DCSB OR with a manual in cement today.

All I requested was an all black interior.

I’m trading in my 18 SR5 AT. So I’m just happy to hear e the MT and OR trim, plus the 4.30 axle ratio.

I was told 30-60 days out, so we’ll see.

We made a handshake agreement on trade in value on my 18 SR5, which is $6k higher than what dealers were offering me this time last year at trade in. Wild!

I picked up my DCSB TRD OR manual today.
No factory, port or dealer adds.
    MSRP was $36,725
I paid @ $33.500 before tax and dealer fee. Put me out the door for $34.500

Took about 6 weeks once dealer allocation modification was accepted

I’m in Canada. Got my DCDB TRD OffRoad Premium in Cement at the end of November 2020. I tried ordering a 2020 in August and ordered the 2021.

I had been told I may be waiting until March of 2021; so I was relieved to only wait a few months. Lol.

The epic tail of obtaining a cap added to the journey.

Can't leave us with that cliff hanger!

I'm in Maine & my current Taco is a '17 DCLB SR5 4wd I traded my '99 prerunner for in spring of '18. Wanted a color matched cap but not enough to pay new prices. I eventually found one in SE Georgia that Fall that was ~1.5hrs from my sister's. Ended up driving down the cap & picked up my canoe that was at her house. Was a long week but got my canoe & a color matched cap with a Thule rack & windoors.

When I had my prerunner & I was living near Savannah, GA I found a color matched cap in Virginia on ebay. Ended up winning it for $100. Got a buddy that was up for a road trip, hit the road well before sun up, met the guy on his lunch break and turned right back around.

I have a deposit on a '21 DCLB OR and while I wanted a mag. gray, I didn't want to have the current cap repainted so specified my '17s color first & gray second.

    haha… long story short.

Mid October 2020 ordered a Leer with windoors and bells and whistles. By the end of February 2021, after monthly requests for updates where I was informed my cap wasn’t even in production, I requested to cancel and switch to a RSi Smartcap Evo. Way more suitable for me.

… suddenly the Leer was available (I called BS, but alas the vendor tried to keep my deposit and tell me to go pound sand.

Finally I got them to change their mind and … RSi sent the wrong cap 1x and then didn’t receive my order the next. But! A few days prior to June of 2021 I got it, and it’s great.

just didn’t expect the delay, journey and stress.

Voodoo Blue represent! We have essentially the same truck. Funny that Toyota didn't even want to build me one when I first started the process. Even getting a dealer to request a manual for allocation took me 4 months of wrangling. All but two of them kept trying to get me to buy an automatic off the lot or let them ship in a double cab I didn't want.
