Why reuse the old breather? I thought the point was to raise and replace the one way (gas out) factory one with a 2 way breather. To prevent water getting sucked in the axle seals due to pressure changes when axle gets rapidly cooled.

 

Jeep vs Toyota. Jeep is a rental while Caravan gets rust fixed...might as well have some fun. I do miss my TJ. On a side note, it already had a raised breather on the rear diff.

 

I know I don't need a 2 way breather...sits zip tied to the top of the inner tail light bracket about box rail high.
If I get in water that high I got bigger issues than a breather!

 

I thought axle seals were the weak link. That is where water gets sucked in with the factory one way breather. Height is needed with the new 2 way. There was a thread on here about it.

Yep. Almost shit my pants when I saw it. The van isn't even paid off yet. I gotta say FCA has been fast to respond and fix.

 

In-laws have same issue. Center front seam and above lights.

Same. Wife said there was three other vans in for the same issue. On a happy note, I am enjoying the jeep we got as a loaner.

 

Brakes are really good on them too...not.
