Keep in mind there is some strategy taking place when the driver complains over the radio too. Hamilton is extremely tactical and aware of everything that's going on. Sometimes things are said over the radio to influence another team's strategy, other times the driver is trying to convince his engineers to do what he wants. Listen to a NASCAR radio, the drivers say the car is the tightest or loosest car they've ever driven...every single week. They're trying to get the adjustments they want on the next stop and motivate the race engineers to figure it out.

His strategy worked perfectly then for not gaining a single place from qualifying even though 2 cars in front of him retired.

Kinda brings up a good point. I'm surprised F1 teams don't secure their radio frequencies with encryption. OR, is open communication lines like a rule?

They are open but delayed to the TV viewer, I forget the delay time. But I believe encrypted otherwise.

If you’re watching a specific driver with their team radio selected then its live. I’m usually listening in on Lando with an ear bud on laptop and main commentary on tv…

team radio is required to be open so all teams monitor all the other team's radio transmissions , that's why they use code words or "we're going with Plan B + 5" or whatever

Blaming Bottas is a load of horsesh!t!!! I've seen plenty of cars out of position during a stop and the gun man always compensate. It's just something that happened and Bottas seems to be on the wrong side of things going correctly.
