Thing I realized about Side by Sides is that older folks who used to tuck it up and stay at home in the past decades are now spending more time outside than previous generations in their age group.

Couple that with growing population and you've got a massive increase in the amount of people spending time outdoors simultaneously.

If everyone was a good land steward, it will support the increased volume...but unfortunately too many venturing outside are not.

SxS themselves are not the issue, per se...it's the drivers: driving pinned wide open, no trail etiquette and think they rule every one they're on, no respect for the trails themselves or Tread Lightly concepts, throwing trash out on the trail, going off trail and creating new ones, etc. etc. They will single handedly be the reason that land gets shut down.

Just watch a Can Am commercial, and see them blast around corners as fast as they can with 10 foot roosters o_O

They are a disease, and they will get no love from me...

It's only gonna get worst as today's models become yesterday's used models and open the door of entry to "classier" people with smaller budgets and less fucks to give.

I agree with you but stand by what I said too. I think both elements contribute to land degradation when these are basically budget race vehicles that also allow people who'd have to retire their dirt bikes to keep their power sport fantasy going but on a more destructive scale.

Every time I go out to Bulldog at least, I notice a common theme with the majority of SXS drivers that pass. Maybe that's just AJ specific or what, but a lot of them are closer to retirement age than shredding on a 250cc.

C’mon guys. If everyone respected the land and didn’t trash it we would lose all of these great desert cleanup events

Just got the email that our Super Pacific build is starting, made our option choices, and time to send the 75% payment! So Stoked! :goingcrazy: We just snagged that spot for sale a couple weeks ago and saved about 8+ months of wait time. Picking the truck back up tomorrow from getting the front end all replaced after the accident. Ended up benefiting from it and got both gusseted Spindles and both bearings replaced. Little TLC and it should be back to normal. Going to order a BBK here shortly (still leaning Wilwood) and slap those on, then time to cut it up for 35's and the rear bumper. After that its install the rear bumper and get the leafs re-arched again for the added weight, including the future camper. Hoping to get it all finished up prior to our camper install supposedly in August.

Man I am pretty frustrated with my winch bumper install. Have had bumper off for 3 months trying to do figure out parts to relocate box from on top it can’t fit there with the grill.

I feel like just selling winch and installing bumper lol.

Has anyone here installed a 2nd gen with a winch and relocated the box? It’s a bamf hybrid bumper and haven’t really gotten any good help on the thread for this specific bumper

I’ve ordered longer cables, manor mount from tandem off road. Installed that mount and looks like there isn’t enough room for the warn evo 10 box

I’m wondering if the smitty x20 is smaller dimensions.

Where and what is it having clearance issues with? Got any pictures? I know I had to cut out and rebuild a good portion of the vertical hood latch support bracket on my neighbors 3rd gen to fit his warn evo12 into his bumper. But then helped another with the smitty that has the remote Located control box and same bumper and didn’t have issues

My Smitty x20 is pretty small.. didn't have to relocate the box on it either. But it is a different bumper.

just got home from work where the bumper and winch are located. So the problem I have is that if I use the warn extended cables don’t have a location in engine bay to mount or a bracket

if I use the maner mount from tandem off road the warn box just seems to big for it. Here is pic from their website. The only way the box fits on the bracket is with the cables coming down toward the ground. Which seems idea. Except the rubber hose and pipe below it keep it from being able to sit flat on the bracket

ideally the bracket would go on other side of the grill where it open space and figure out how to mount it securely drilling new holes and supports

I looked up measurement and the height looks just a tad smaller. What bumper are you using? Any pics?

It's an old Pelfreybilt Aluminum plate bumper. And I just remembered.. the box is relocated.. off to the left side. I don't have any pics at the moment. I can snag some tomorrow maybe.

Appreciate it but don’t worry about the effort. I was looking at my bumper and can’t see a way to fit it next to the winch without some big modifications

Just let me know if I can help. I can try and grab some dimensions and stuff if needed tomorrow. I know the Smitty has the box on top, but it does move to one side I believe.. but yeah.. mine is actually off the winch completely, and mounted to the bumper.

:annoyed: Dealer is playing games with financing on the runner, of course. I get a ping from my insurance company saying "let us know lienholder ASAP" because that was filled out as "unknown" so I text the salesperson who says the finance guy is gonna call me. Hasn't called, it's been a few days now. Getting this sneaking suspicion they are gonna try to walk back the rate they gave me.

Already got prequalified for loans elsewhere & at places I already bank with so if they keep it up they're going to check the "fucked around, found out" box. ;)

Anyways, docs are super positive about the ol' brainium and I have the follow up MRI scheduled. :) My balance is so much better too, I'm so unimaginably thankful things are returning to a sort of normal. I'm 100% ready for them to take me off all the various anti-everything drugs. Cleared to drive again and all that since no seizures or evidence of seizures seen. :headbang:

So related to the 'runner, what kind of good easy trails are out here in southern Phx area, like around Maricopa/Casa Grande area? I found out about the concrete satellite calibration targets and that's not so much a trail, but it would make a cool day trip wandering around and finding them...
