Stealth Light bar

Thinking about installing an Diode Dynamics stealth light bar.

If so what type of light did you go with? Flood, driving, spot or combo?

A lot of people have.

What kind of light really depends on your needs and what you want to illuminate. If you are unsure, go with the combo.

X2 for combo. I don't have the DD but I run a combo, my dad has the same combo on his Tundra and he loves it.

 

x3 for the Combo that's what I installed couldn't have been any easier. Hotshot Offroad is a vendor on this site you won't get better service anywhere else.

 

I went with the driving beam. The DD bar will be used in conjunction with my high beams.

I have Diode Dynamics MAX fogs, so I didn't need any more light up close.

Easy to install, but kind of a pain to aim and tighten correctly. I used a cali raised relay holder for a clean look in the engine bay, cali raised switch, wired to the instrument panel fuse so the backlight turns on and off with the factory stuff.

I just ordered pair of DD SS3 Pros in selective yellow - any guidance on whether to get matching stealth light bar to match this color vs. going white? Also a bit confused on whether to get driving or combo? Thanks

does the DD kit from you also include switch?

 

Out of random ass curiosity, have you seen anyone mention trans temps or notice a difference after mounting a bar? I'm wondering if that small change in airflow is enough to have an effect when towing.

 

As a point of interest - I have seen a few light bars where people have gotten the white driving bar and then swapped the outer 2 lenses for amber floods. That gives a combo bar with white light in the central 3 lenses and then amber floods for the outer two. Obviously they all come on at the same time but you get the visual effect of white light for distance and yellow for the floods. Just another way of configuring the bar that people may not have thought of.

 

Is anyone running this bar experiencing light bounce or "dance". I've been running it for almost a year. I love the output but sometimes I feel like it could give me epilepsy on dirt roads. Any way to solve this? The bar is tight in the mounts.. I guess I could try and tighten them more but I'd be hesitant.

 

Yes, I had that issue as well. I think what I was going to try (but never did it) was the light needed to be moved more forward. The light is moving ever so slightly and the front grill or the front bumper is interrupting the light.

I ended up moving to a full bumper and moved to a BD 20” light bar, no issues.
