I need to do this too, for 8 months :anonymous:. Kinda fell off the back burner.

Looks good. This is one of those I see as: 'cut, test fit, cut some more, test fit, cut some more, test fit, oops cut too much.. oh well' kind of jobs.

Nice! I put those on a while back, couldn't be happier!

Did you just slide a colored piece of plastic behind the Logo cutout? solid idea. I've been thinking about doing that with my LCA skids from them.

Actually I used a piece of foil duct tape I had laying around and scuffed it with emery cloth then primed and painted once applied. I actually had the idea to match my LCA skids which already have the BAMF painted red inside lol

Hurt my back a bit at work so haven’t been able to do too much.. Feeling kinda better today compared to the last few weeks so I managed to remove the front mud flaps, add a TRD badge to the front grill (yes it’s a 4 banger), and put the fog light covers on.. which I should’ve just done when I swapped the paint matched front bumper in. Also cleaned the inside real good :)

Tires have a Serial or Form number on them, perhaps try to get all four the same. Best of luck.

Lifted it (a little) with the TRD Baja kit and Icon AAL. Love how it looks and how it rides on the road although I'm getting a driveshaft shudder when I take off from a dead stop.

Gonna get dirt on it this weekend

Hi! Long time, but I want to add an oem microphone to my 06 and I was going to buy an overhead console from a 2012. It has the microphone and the 2 sunglasses holder. Do you by chance know if I can just swap out the one closest to the windshield with the termp and compass screen? Thank you!

Any write up or video you recommended before attempting? I definitely need this done before summer gets here, just don’t know exactly how to go about it.

Looks great, look into the ome carrier bearing drop kit. That completely solved my driveline issues. Didn’t have to use any shims or anything else, just that. It works for most on here as well. Good to do too because it will prolong the life of the carrier bearing since it won’t be at more of an extreme angle.

I have been doing quite a bit of research and listening to a million sound clips of different cat back exhausts. Pulled the trigger on the MBRP single turn down system. The quality is beyond what I expected for the price point. As far as sound it isn’t too loud and just gives it a little bit more of a deeper tone. Another advantage to it is that the muffler itself sits quite a bit higher. After inspecting the stock one I am surprised I hadn’t punctured it yet as it’s taken quite the beating on the underside.

Didn’t think I ever would put an exhaust on the truck but I also said I was going to leave the whole truck stock 4 years ago.... Overall very happy with the purchase.

Did you have to cut this one up to make it fit? I watched a couple videos on this style and I can’t remember the brand but they needed to be trimmed in order to fit the dcsb and ac.

I wonder if this is the best.
I have OEM TRD catback with Vibrant resonator welded in by an exhaust shop to reduce highway drone.
But it does not seem clearance enough and I want to make it more so.
It might be cheaper to pay an exhaust shop to weld on a downturn tip, or just cut it off myself with a tool,
but that thinner muffler on MBRP looks taller. Thinner means louder though. So it might still need a resonator. (1141, 2.5")
Could just buy one for $300-400, install, cut and weld/swap over the old resonator, sell the TRD catback
but that's a lot of work for some height clearance and downturn tip

Thanks, I'll try this first! I actually just put a new carrier bearing in last month because the original had some excessive play, so preserving the new one would be good.

I did have to cut the front tube leading to the muffler itself. However, the directions were awesome and gave you the exact measurement which took out all of the guess/hard work. They noted it needed to be cut down to 32” I believe but don’t quote me on that, I’d have to double check the directions. I believe the only truck that doesn’t have to make the cut is the DCLB. It’s just one cut and I did it in about 2 minutes with a metal blade hand saw after I threw it in a vice.

I get what you’re saying but from what I’ve experienced, yes this muffler is thinner but it is by no means loud. I come from a background of building some pretty ridiculous cars/ drift cars though, so a little exhaust noise isn’t bad for me. At idle this is hardly any different just a little deeper sounding. Of course when you bring it up to redline which I don’t do anyways it gets much louder than stock. After driving it though I truly like the setup. There is no highway drone and when you get on it, say to change lanes and accelerate it’s just a moderate low pitch growl that is by no means “loud” but yes it is louder than stock but in a good way if that makes sense. I 100% recommend this setup if you want an exhaust but don’t want it to sound ricey or raspy. Also, another note it could be my butt dyno but it feels like this brought new life into the truck and woke it up as far as throttle response.

Hope that helped a little in your decision making.
