They acquired Cylance, a "leader" in "next gen" anti-virus. They've slowly been rebranding the Cylance stuff with Blackberry logos and names. A strange move considering all the market goodwill that comes with the cylance name. But whatever...the product is good, so people will continue to use it...as long as it stays good.

I was talking to a neighbor who I found out is a financial advisor. He really had no idea. His first comments were "I think it's going to be a penny stock. They will probably be taught a lesson and used as an example, but if someone wants to invest in them, I'll take my commission from that. Plus, it gets the conversation started about other investment options." By the end of the conversation he had changed his tune to "maybe I need to get a couple shares of Gamestop."

But this whole time, I've been thinking "how in the world is Reddit and TW talking about these stock prices going to the moon and literally none of the professionals are paying it any attention. If the numbers were there and it was guaranteed to go up, EVERYONE (and their mothers) would be buying as much GME as they could afford." Then it hit me when I was talking to the neighbor. They aren't paying attention to it and writing it off as something that has skyrocketed because of the hype on Reddit/WSB.

I put some of my fun money into it. I'm going to have regrets one way or the other. Either I'm going to regret putting my fun money in (if it goes down) or I'm going to regret not putting everything into it (if it moons).

You know I’ve heard this theory multiple times, I feel it is kind of like state and local governments reducing promised pensions after people have retired because the state or city is bankrupt. That money is there and grown but they might want more of it on the tail end even though the taxes are already paid.

 

Crazy to think we may be looking back here real soon to this week and seeing that an NFT announcement with all the exprys today not being covered as the catalyst we were waiting for.

I have an average of like $2 on itrm for 240 shares. I never averaged down because I was still waiting for it to go even lower. Missed that opportunity I guess so now I'm still stuck in the middle lol.

I wish that was the case. My son turned 1 on Monday and my wife returned to work for the first time in a year on Tuesday leaving me at home alone with him + working so I have been a bit busy. I still keep up with this thread and chime in when I can. Can't miss the rocket. It's my ticket to being a full-time stay at home dad...that drives a Lambo
