Going from a Dakota to a Tacoma it was a must to install the Redline hood struts. They've been in for 9 years and have been trouble free. Here's a link on how to install. I do not watch her on All Girls Garage, but will on Youtube. She actually has quite a few videos on Tacoma trucks. BTW she installed the Spiker struts.

Well that last video is all one needs to see before spending twenty minutes installing Sokie Tech struts.

No trimming of sealant. No drilling. No painting. No riveting. No removing of the grill. And oh yea. No need for carpentry with a chainsaw.

If I want to drill a hole in my truck (or my face) that's my prerogative. No deity - real or imagined - will stand in the way of my free will. But I respect your desire not to have zippers installed. Also if Dog didn't want us drilling holes in trucks how does he feel about cutting fenders for high-clearance bumpers, removing stock shock mounts for long travel setups, or even minor surgery like a cab mount chop?

I'm offended about the carpentry part...why would you NOT want to use a chainsaw? But seriously though Spiker's product are USA made, presumably meaning USA jobs. To some people that matters. Where are Sokie Tech made? I can't find anything about them other than where to buy them. Probably in the same sweatshop in Asia as lots of other Amazon/eBay junk. I'd rather drill 4 holes and not exploit cheap foreign labor but that's me.

Edit: This thread made me impulse buy the Spiker strut kit. Cheers!

I did a write-up, but it is for a 1st Gen. I hope it helps either way? :fingerscrossed:

I did the redline group buy last year. I’d recommend using a real rivet gun & not that pussy one they try to get you to buy. Besides that - a top mod for our trucks

It's usually not an issue on the 2nd Gen, but feel free to post a picture and I can let you know for sure.

Thank you, that is exactly the rationale behind us manufacturing our products locally. We can source the parts from China like the others do, and sell the kits for a lot less, but we choose not to do that, precisely for these reasons.

You’re the only Dog here. You can be a non-believer without slandering other peoples beliefs in God you know.

Take that shit someplace else before you get the thread shut down. It’s a truck forum no one cares what you do or don’t believe when it comes to religion.

I didn’t see you complain when he called GOD dog, so you have no credibility with me. Agree arguing about beliefs doesn’t belong here, and neither does bigoted anti-religion bashing and that’s my point.

I wrote the word Dog and you used your Jump To Conclusions mat for your own outrage. Congrats what a cheery person you seem to be! I said nothing about religion yet you are projecting that I’m somehow an atheist? Maybe take some time away from the Internet while the rest of us adults chat about trucks?

This guy gets it. Ok discussion back on track. Aaaaaand GO!

Ninja edit: My Spiker struts just arrived, stoked to install them but it’s so hot outside this weekend in Wisconsin that I’m gonna melt. Waiting til next week for a cool down. Thanks @SpikerEng for the quick shipping these feel beefy!

    Lol your words betray you:
“If I want to drill a hole in my truck (or my face) that's my prerogative. No deity - real or imagined - will stand in the way of my free will. But I respect your desire not to have zippers installed. Also if Dog didn't want us drilling holes in trucks how does he feel about cutting fenders for high-clearance bumpers, removing stock shock mounts for long travel setups, or even minor surgery like a cab mount chop?”
    Carry on. ;)

Nothing religious about any of that. I’m just stating facts that no deities will stop me in this life from drilling into my truck. That is without a doubt a true statement. Thor himself won’t stop me. Facts. I didn’t disparage any religion or belief other than your foolish thoughts that nobody should drill holes or modify their own property. Which is also not my opinion and quite factually foolish as most of the modifications on this forum show.

Go live your life and quit trying to stir up trouble on an Internet forum. We are here to talk about Tacomas not to be lectured like it’s Sunday school.

Lol I said nothing about drilling holes, that wasn’t me that was another poster. I just called you out on calling God Dog, no need for that since you’re here to talk about trucks, right? :D

That’s even worse - you only came onto this discussion to cause a religious slap-fight. Please see yourself out of this truck related conversation. Resume chat about hood struts.

Guys, my comment about zippers and God was tongue in cheek. I’ll avoid such comments in the future to avoid confusion.
