I'm super curious about the perceived value of these vehicles. For fun I want to ask, what would you pay for a CLEAN 2008 5speed 4banger single cab 4x4 with 80k on the clock.

I should know...but I don't. Is that truck RWD or 4WD? Are we to assume the frame is great?

If 4WD...there's a very similar truck on eBay right now (without the topper or rack) with a buy-it-now price of $22,500. So...I don't know....$19,000? Crazy I know.

6-lug and 4WD mud flaps, but unpainted flares and bumper... I'm leaning towards a base model 4x4 since I believe the prerunners had painted flares.

That truck with the current mods shown.
I’d say you are in the $16k+ pretty easy.
That body style isn’t available any more.
Prices are at a premium on them.

Seeing that it has Colorado plates and you're in California... the price is more than most people want to pay. The markets here and in CA are highly inflated - especially now that it's peak truck/off-road/camping/exploring season.

This truck will likely go for almost $20k.

I hear ya. My wife and i got lucky back in 2016 being able to travel around the U.S. doing some overlanding pre silly tik tok/instagram/youtube vanlife boom. Our intention was to find a place we loved to move to. We hit every state except for Hawaii and Alaska and North Dakota and ended up totaling close to 14 thousand miles. Settled on beautiful Colorado as a central hub via a giant (crude) figure 8 roadmap spanning the U.S. Long amazing story lol.

I paid $14,000 for this one 5 weeks ago. Base 4WD Manual. 120,000 miles. I had to drive almost 7 hours (one way). Even at that kind of money, it was too good a deal to pass up and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Manuals don't bring more money but they are harder to find.

I had 20 rounds of 9mm along for the ride. It was not part of the deal though. LOL.
