Helped my older neighbor and his brother move a heavy hutch and they bought me a sixxer of Dales Pale ale which was dope and totally unnecessary. Weather is damn fine and so drinking in the garage and wrenching is the move.

I'd like to assert that the only bad beer is a spilled beer.

    Catalytic Converter theft prevention:

Lots of cats being stolen in my town and immediate area.

Worried about my trucks seeing that they are so easy to get under.

I’ve seen the cages being sold online but aren’t they completely ineffective? Couldn’t the douchebags just cut your exhaust upstream and downstream of the cage and make away with it still?

What are your thoughts on what to do? Other than post something about guns because 1. I’m not shooting anyone and 2. They are driving around in the middle of the night and using hacksaws. So I probably wouldn’t even hear it happening.

I've dealt with being in areas of this...

I've gone through the pros and cons, and I also am not going to just "shoot the m-fer" like some would jump to recommending here...

The "solution" is a set of aluminum skids going from the front bumper back to behind the cats. Once they crawl under to start cutting and see that, they will most likely just not bother.

The cat cages and other expensive solutions suffer from what you say - just cutting a larger section out and potentially doing more damage.

I did see out in Sacramento, CA area, a shop that replaces dozens and dozens of Prius catalytic converters a day came up with this spiderweb, rebar-looking contraption that allows airflow but basically makes it super hard to get the cats out without first cutting through more than a dozen pieces of rebar/metal tubing. I can't find that right now.

I'd just shoot the m-fer, but there are these you could use too if you don't want to deal with the paperwork.

Cat Clamp is one example of the thief just cutting a larger section out and then when they get to their workshop, they will cut apart the cat clamp.
