Thanks ill look into it, judging by the description of the adjuster on BK website, sounds like it wouldn't be too bad to add on? Might be the way ill go.

my personal opinion would be to get them tuned based on your current preferences and then add the adjusters on the next rebuild if you still feel like you need them.

What is this crazy ad valoreum yearly tax reg in this state? Just moved here from IL where yearly registration is a flat rate ($125 for a truck), AL has some crazy market value mileage thing it seems, was considering snagging a new PRO here and my gf was like you know your registration gonna be more cause of this. What are the new 3rd gen guys paying each year here?

The sole purpose in a shock/CO/whatever's life is to control the spring oscillations. There is some valving to "the vehicle" but that is all based off spring rates that were chosen if you have more than a 1:1 moment ratio of wheel travel to shock travel yada yada yada, which all circles back to choosing the correct springs . If you have heavier springs on the COs than what came on them then the shock isn't valved correctly to your application. If they were just an off the shelf CO no tune they are set for the most common person of a little over stock weight. Another thing with the Tacos is if you have them way preloaded to get lots of lift then you are effectively increasing the weight of the spring at that given preload. Street driving 90% of your suspension travel is in droop or rebound so again if you have them cranked way up so there isn't much droop left and you are constantly hitting the limits of droop you'll feel a lot rougher. Stock vehicles, for the most part, get set up with 1/3 suspension tavel in bump the rest in droop for this reason.

Yea i effectively have very little preload on my springs. Its really only the low speed rebound that im not too fond of off-road. Like rolling over the rock and the spring rebounding back to the ground. It doesn't seem as controlled as it could be. Again this is only an issue off-road on rocky terrain and its really not that bad. Other than that truck feels great on road and dirt roads with bumps and ruts. Not sure if there's a difference between a shock tune and a shock valve? Maybe i was talking about a shock tune they guy at radflo told me he could do to help with some low speed.

Thats an old pic might be a smidge higher now but nothing really. Im getting about 2.25-2.5 of lift.

Tune is the same thing as revolving. You may need to go a little stiffer on the valving in rebound if it's feeling like that the spring could just be unloading faster than the shock can keep up with. You don't have a whole lot of travel before you're at full droop at 2.5" of lift either. So you could also be feeling that as well. I know I do offroad and don't really on road because the dynamics is way slower on road vs off.

I had that same feeling and stepping down in coils solved it. It would bottom out something harsh before. Spring was overpowering the shock. I was going to send mine off to be revalved but thought I’d try a lighter coil and sure enough it was enough improvement I didn’t bother. I only have an extra couple turns of “preload” too.

Im just afraid if i go down in spring rate ill have to preload the coil more and be effectively in the same position im in now. Other than the one or 2 times offroad the shocks are perfect.

Here’s my before and after. One turn more between 700 and 650s. I probably could have gone down to 600’s

the way I understand it is you’re moving the shock body up or down, not compressing the coil with these type shocks. Ones with the adjustment ring on the bottom I believe compress the shock like a Bilstein 5100 would with its snap rings

No it does compress the spring. It would have a threaded sleeve the whole shock moves in if it just adjusted height like that. That's the way a lot of COs adjust height in the tuner car scene.
