I've got a 2006 Tacoma with a 3" lift. I'm about to buy some used 17x9 rims and I'm looking at tires to fit. All tires I've seen that fit that rim are 285 70 17's. It looks like I'm going to rub but I haven't seen anything on what I'll need to trim. It's there a thread on what I'll need to trim it or is there a AT tire that will fit that isn't as wide?

    I got a 3” lift and run 285/75/16
No rubbing. I know you have 17” but thought I would give you an idea

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
Don't start cutting right away, mount up your tires and then see if you are hitting anything, if you are staying on pavement you won't have to do much. Take a box cutter knife with you to the tire shop and then if you have some rubbing on plastic stuff you can take it off. With a 3 inch lift you might get lucky and not have to do much. Its' not that big a deal if you are on pavement.
I should add a good wheel alignment can really help as well to minimize rubbing if you have aftermarket UCAs.
