Been sitting on my 35x12.5x17 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss set while I search for wheels. I'm currently on some old school Mickey Thompson wheels as well.. 17x9 with IIRC -12mm offset. They have been awesome for my 33's.. but was wanting/needing to go with something more aggressive. SO.. I'm about to pick up a set of 17x9 -25mm offset Summit Dakars.

    have:
    17x9 -12mm
    285/70/17

    going to:
    17x9 -25mm
    35/12.5/17

So what's your final offset like? I'm curious about the 315/70/17 but I have 0 offset methods. Hard to find Toyo MTs so I'm trying to expand my tire sizes for ~34" tires lol

You got a video or any links to help someone DIY these cuts and not look like a 3rd grader did it? Lol

So I just test fit the 35s with a spare wheel and they don't rub on the UCAs with 4.5 bs wheels. There's about an inch of clearance. I'm assuming they will rub elsewhere at full lock and such?

Best way to see where you rub is the pull your suspension/bump stops then use floor jack to fully cycle your suspension at full lock both ways. You'll know exactly what needs to be done at that point.

My fenders are cut, pinch weld is smashed, just chopped my cab mount. I spend about $400 on quality 1in spacers and extended ARP studs. Just making sure I didn't spend the money for nothing. But everyone says 3.5 bs so I'm thinking it's still necessary to have the spacers

I'll be doing trimming soon to finally clearance for my 315's, and I'll be leaving tabs on the fender to attach a flare to. I intend to use some adhesives to adhere some 90deg tabs I'll fab up directly to the inner fender, then use 1/8th puck board for the liner itself. If you didn't think to leave tabs when cutting, just glue on 3 or 4 tabs onto the fender now and there shouldn't be a problem. I'd recommend avoiding top centre as that seems to be the likeliest spot for a tire to rub, as it would tear the tab off.

So I'm rubbing at full lock after installing 1in spacers. I do my own alignments and I pushed it as far as I thought I could but thats the only thing I can think of besides getting a bigger hammer

There’s a point where Pushing your tire further out makes rubbing worse.

    Here’s my clearance with 17x9 -25

Yeah but I only have 3.5in bs with the 1in spacer. Whats your backspacing? Also, did you cut and grind down your pinch weld?

Take a picture of your left rear and left front cam tabs for me! What UCA do you have? Have you bashed anything in?

JBA UCA and I've really just banged in the pinch weld. I see you cut and grinded yours? I can bang in more but I think its an alignment issue because with any flex it would go right back to rubbing. When I was doing it I couldnt get the caster any further without messing up my camber.

    Oh well this is easy.

Your cam tabs are at the wrong position for rear on both. They must be maxed out for the most amount of clearance.

    Driver Rear

    8493ECD9-06E6-47FC-A2CB-95445A2C481B.jpg

Do this for the other side too.

Then for front cam tabs, pull them in.

You gain an extra 1” or so just like that. What I do for my alignments (and why I think SPC is best is because you can adjust camber from up top) is max out both rear cam tabs, pull in both front cam tabs, and only tell them to adjust camber/caster off that front cam tab.

Yeah I just didnt know I was going 35s when I got the JBAs. Last time I was under there I tried placing the rears all the way in and adjusting the fronts only but again I couldn't get proper camber out of it. I'll give it another try though. Did you cut and grind your pinch weld?

I ran into the same issue. Couldn't get the camber right when I did that. I have SPC's and was able to get a bit of camber correction back with the UCA. It's still not perfect though as I rub the UCA on full lock.

Whats your alignment status? I'm bringing mine back to Rex since I dorked my alignment wheeling.

    You trade off camber/caster.

You should be able to zero everything out first, then adjust camber yourself perfectly on the top. Rubbing the UCA on full lock is an offset issue. -25 offset 4” BS will clear UCA, frame, and cab mount.
