So the year is half over and I'm trying to decide on a vacation this year. Thinking the beginning of August ish...

My current thoughts are

A. Road trip that includes Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Fort Sumner New Mexico, Yellowstone National Park and then down to WhiteSands National Park.

B. A trip to Mexico, maybe Puerto Vallarta or Cancun or possibly Dominican Republic.

C. New Orleans for a few days.

D. Fly to some random place in the U.S. and kill some time.

Key West...

Can't say anything about Fort Sumner or Yellowstone, but having been stationed at Holloman for 4 years if you take that route be sure to check out the Ruidoso and Cloudcroft area. There is a casino up there, as well as a pretty cool little shop area in Ruidoso. Some pretty good eating up there too, particularly a couple of restaurants that I don't recall the name of. There is also a space museum in Alamogordo. White Sands is pretty cool to visit, we used to go out there to hang out, play some volleyball, etc. It gets kind of boring quickly if you don't have something to do while out there.

 

2 Tacos in one day.

Cloudcroft is loaded with aspen trees. I loved mountain biking in that area.
