Show off your 3D printed parts

Nice, I have been thinking of printing some socket organizers. Good motivation here.

 

These parts are for an adapter to use to power bleed your brakes instead of having to use those clunky universal types. The printed adapter has 45 mm x 3 mm threads like Euro brake reservoirs so you can use your power bleeder's existing Euro adapter... or print one. I had posted a thread with an earlier design that was a work in progress but I came up with a different approach and a cleaner more effective design. Tested it today and it works great. To be clear, I use this only as an air source. I fill the reservoir, pressurize it and bleed the brakes. Stop to refill as necessary. The threaded cap makes it much easier to do... and if you use medical air quick connects you don't lose the pressure in your pump when you refill. The other thing I plan to try is to use my shop compressor instead of the hand pump. Just run it up to 10-15 psi and shut it off and the 5 gallon tank will have plenty of air for the entire job. If you get that to work you'd likely help out quite a bit of people! If you are willing to make one that is a "blank" that has no holes that would be a good solution too so people can add whatever lights or camera system they would like. I don't have a printer and thus have no idea how the software works and the time that goes into it.

 

Same. I don't print either lol. I agree, a black blank would be a better alternative. But it's worth a shot to see if detail could be implemented.

 

working on designing the case for a small project I have been slowly getting to.

First time working with parametric design, thought this would be the perfect design for it, this way I can change up the size of future enclosures pretty quickly.





final case will get some mounting feet on the outside to secure it to the 80/20 rail and possibly an o-ring seal, but I am leaning towards potting the whole board in a silicone to not only help with weatherproofing, but to help with vibration.

 

Definitely possible. Would need to pick the filament carefully due to it being subjected to heat, UV, and water. Printing a blank and drilling holes in it wouldn't come out well because printers do not print solid plastic. They print with infill and layerlines. Addressing the cost of this adventure, printing it would be a small part of the price, probably $40-$60 plus shipping. The majority of the cost would go to the engineering portion of someone printing a bunch of revisions to get a model that fits the area well. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Not exactly for a Tacoma, but it's a 3D printed part for a Toyota, so I'll post it here anyway, haha. Not quite finished yet, but it's getting there. Front grille emblem for my AE86.

It's probably the first time I'm printing something that isn't a "prototype" so to speak, but something that's actually going on my car. I think it should turn out good enough.

I don’t have a printer or the knowledge to design my idea, but has anyone tried to print a cup holder for the 3rd gen that would fit two Nalgene type bottles? My 09 would fit two and the space is the same size, just the insert is too small. I don’t know if it can even be taken apart. Just a thought. My 21 arrives next week and that’s on my list of things to try to figure out how to do it

 

I've come across this before looking through Thingiverse but I can't say how well it fits either the bottle or the cup holder.

Yeah I saw that. I was looking at replacing the whole cup holder assembly that is built in to the console. Not a fan of those huge cup holder adapters.

 

After about 14 hours, the carbon fiber nylon version is complete.

 

I used my 18 Oz Yeti mug, which fits snug in my '19 Tacoma, took some measurements from the mug at bottom and at the height I marked it at to get the taper correct. Then modeled an insert that holds my rugged radios V3s. Works great. Was easier to measure the mug at certain locations then get calipers down inside the cupholder...just a tip

Working on a project and i'm stuck. Friend of mine wants a delorean cake topper for a wedding cake. All the models i've found have fully modeled interiors which isn't needed and i just need the car as one solid object and just a detailed skin. Anyone here know how to do that or can help?
