Yanmar engine and built machine. Doesn’t have a direct yanmar grey market machine that it interchanges with but there was a fair amount of parts sharing

We talked about one of these a few weeks ago, Duder in video is mowing grass that is just a bit too tall to achieve a smooth air cushion and even cut
    And this one is a 4stroke so it’s heavier….

I used a flymow on a rope to do the steep inclines on the golf course I worked at in high school 20+ years ago. Things worked mint for their purpose.

LOL I just sold one to my buddy. Gave him 2 options... a self propelled toro or a Honda which is now a pusher. Trans is no good. He tells me tonight that the toro will do.

Whenever I change over implements....pretty sure my neighbors spit coffee all over the place and end up on the ground rolling. Another issue I have is a place of worship is within close proximity of my property. The rather loud F-bombs probably is not a great idea.

So to help with these two stupid to have problems...

    Pats quick hitch

    or

    LandPride style quick hitch

    Well this followed me home...:notsure:
Wisconsin THD 2 cylinder, 53.9 cubic inches, around 18 HP. Wisconsin called these engines with a house power units.
Has a magneto ignition and crank start.

I have several Wisconsin engines around here, I figure if I buy enough of them I will have parts to make one that actually runs. :der:

These TH series engines are interesting as both pistons move up and down together, note the big honking counterweight on the crankshaft opposite the throws for the pistons.

The similar TJ series engines the pistons move opposite of each other.KIMG1446.jpg

Really for me it is about preservation.
Sure, modern equipment is reliable, economical to run, green, whatever ...

This chunk of cast iron that I'm currently using as an ottoman is a quality piece of gear. Never again will simple utility items be made with the quality and pride our forefathers put in to mundane products.

I have my own mechanical museum of clutter here, doesn't matter if I use it or not, I enjoy admiring it -- as long as I endure these items will also endure -- and the values that they were built with.
(steps down from soap box)

And that is why, with all the plastic fantastic pistols out there, I still have 100 year old 1911's and old school Colts and S&W's.
I still use old snowblowers, [my Simplicity from 1972 still kicks butt] and old tillers. [my Ariens Rocket will still wipe most new ones off the face of the earth in ease of use and one finger balance. I almost cried when I sold my International Cub model 104 to my cousin.

    Amen brother, preach it!

I need to get the work up to me, the forklift turned 75 this year, built in 1946.
    KIMG1447.jpg

It is smaller than it looks, the wheelbase is 40". People were smaller back then, I can use my belly against the steering wheel for an auto pilot.
It has a 2 speed manual transmission and a 4 cylinder flathead gas engine. The fuel tank is in front of your left knee.
