That was an adventure. Cooking wings on a charcoal Weber kettle in torrential down pour. Still good. A lot of work. My next house is going to have an outdoor kitchen with overhead weather protection. They came out fantastic.

I live in Oregon within a short drive to CA and trust me, I have ZERO intention of crossing that border. I went to visit some family in Roseville a few years back...

Weenie dog is sitting at the threshold of the door because for whatever reason he's upset that the people are outside and they should be inside on the couch at this point in time. Weenie dog mom tells me to go fix him up some accommodations. So I get the damn dog a chair and one of his beds to sit in so he can hang out.



This is fine for a while, but weenie dog gets cold when the sun sets, and he's also rather upset that he's not sitting DIRECTLY BETWEEN US on his outdoor throne.
No other option but to go get a blanket to make sure he's happy, and put his chair between us. He was satisfied with this and went to sleep.

when I lived there I had the distinct feeling that the people that moved there from other parts of the country were the cream of the crop as far as really good people with very similar chill temperaments.
Shit I even met people from Boston and Manchester that were wonderful people.
For someone from the Northeast it was wild living and never having to get a weather forecast.
Though everyone of the 4 rainy days involved multiple motor vehicle accidents.
It’s like people don’t know how to drive there, yet in a very different way than people from the Northeast, who don’t know how to drive.

 

Living in Jersey it's constantly like "shit man does anyone know how to drive???" 4 times a day at least but then ya leave Jersey and it's like "shit man dirty jerz is the only place people know how to drive" lmao
Although i still haven't ever pumped my own gas somehow so take that with a chunk of salt

Do people still take the shoulder to during rush hour traffic to get to their exit? Even if that exit is 3 miles away? I used to pull that trick all the time. Then the State Troopers started to get wise to it so they'd sit on the shouder right past the exit. First time I saw one I just stopped. Put on my hazards and got out of my truck like I was looking for something wrong with it. lol

IMO, the shoulder should be a 4th or 5th lane when shit's backed up.

 

Oregon has pump attendants too. It's nice when it's really cold or really hot outside and all you have to do is crack the window enough to slide a card out. Gets frustrating when they are busy and you are just sitting there waiting.

In WA on the 405, they do open the shoulder during rush hour traffic. Was definitely weird when they first rolled it out but they needed to do something. I definitely don't miss traffic jams...

Yea the attitude is still get there fast by any means necessary even in traffic but like you said the cops are catching on to some of the sneaky shit. That and the handful of drivers that set cruise control at ten under and actually follow all the laws and rules of the road, no in between. I hop the medians instead of u turns or right turns on one ways pretty regularly when i can.

The 287 exit off 80 is like that sometimes, cars literally anywhere they can fit within a mile of the exit, which i agree should be fine with how much of a bottle neck it is
