Is your AAL underneath your overload spring? o_O

It was somewhat of an unconventional assembly. The aal barely gave the truck lift with cap and tools. So I put the overload back in. But the aal small leafs are shorter than the damned overload so there you go.

Yea... That's definitely not correct. AAL goes above the overload. The AAL is not doing anything under the over load except increasing the thickness of the leaf pack. Regardless I'm glad you got some new springs.

yes. "correct" would have been to exclude it altogether. I bought the wrong thing for me and tried an ill-advised method to get me by. Lesson learned. for the millionth time or so

I have the Dobinsons Heavy Duty leaf pack on my '20 TRD Pro with a Decked drawer system, steel high lift rear bumper and wrap around steel armor and high loop steel bars to protect the tail lights. I'm also going to add a rack and RTT, so it will be pretty heavy, they have held up fantastically well, the Australians definitely know off road equipment, and manufacture it very well.

I am also wondering this. Seems many like these packs and I need to replace my stock leafs as they are sagging under added weight. I have a leer cap with ladder rack and lots of tools and material. My thoughts are the 4+1 pack to get the stock rake back and a more comfortable ride, but I will ask Bob his professional opinion.

If the pack I get does lift the back slightly more than the stock set up, should I replace the stock shocks with longer ones to allow for the extra down travel? I know anything under 3" of lift doesn't require any drops or extended brake lines but the shocks are my only concern.

Also would new shocks help aid in a better ride alongside the new leafs?

I would love to lift the whole truck 3" but am not looking to do that at the moment. If I do get new shocks for the rear and get ones for a future 3" of lift but don't actually lift the truck will they be ruined by always being compressed? Will they make the ride horrible?

    Thanks in advance

I just got mine installed the other day. Told em I was going to be running about 600lbs over, got a 4+1 with extra arch, maybe it's a new thing they're doing. HC bumper is a few months away, hoping to not need an aal but so far I'm very pleased

Everything is getting replaced with ADS as soon as it arrives. I'm at 24.5 from center of hub to fender now. Had my 270# friend stand on the bumper and I only lost 1/2". I think it'll be fine

Just called and spoke with sr, they getting a 4+1 pack setup for me. Super nice and informative. Currently have a HS 1.5" AAL pack and added bed bars/RTT/sliders so I'm a lil' saggy. Luckily went with Eibach 2.0 coilovers so can just do some crankin' on the front if needed.

How much lift will that give you? I have the OEM 3/1 leafs with Wheelers 3 leaf AAL & the ride is pretty harsh. My bed is empty 90% of the time. I'm looking to replace them with a new leaf pack & get 2.5"'s of rear lift.

He told me 2-3" but will settle. I currently have the headstrong 1.5" 3-leaf and it has been great just need a lil extra support. I'll have them in next week and will report back.

No I don't believe so, I told him 300lb and what I got is part "#BT9029HD Toyota Tacoma Extra Capacity Heavy Duty 4/1 (5 Lvs)" per the packing slip. He had indicated it wasn't a pack listed on the site.

Here's the packs compared against the stock ones with HS 1.5" AAL packs installed:

Stance after the install which at first seems about 2.75" over what the old packs were giving me:

I plan on letting it ride for a bit and seeing how much settling they'll do before maybe cranking the front coilovers up.

Ironman 4x4 TOYO66BK packs came yesterday. Don’t have my own comparator except for stock but I am satisfied. Fitment was excellent. Before/after includes my stock pack with an AAL and I had a 1 inch block beneath that which I left out, so this kit does give a true ~2” lift. Sits entirely level with the new packs, much stiffer in a good sense - feels like I added a rear sway. Shipping was great. Package included poly bushings and very high quality U bolts. Only disappointment was that it didn’t include grease in the kit, not a big deal because I had some but I’d be disappointed if I started the process without thinking about that. Also added Dobinson greaseable pins, happy about that decision.
