Yes. In about 1986 I got pulled over for having blue lights on my hood scoop. I didn’t get ticketed and learned that cars can have only white and amber in the front and red in the rear. Blue lights are for emergency vehicles only.

The light is staying on white when driving around town. It's basically like a light bar that can be kept on without blinding oncoming traffic. I have OEM LED headlights so illumination isn't an issue for me lol.

Look at the jeeps riding around town with the red halos. Is that cool, or is it please-look-at-me-because-i-get-no-validation-at-home dorky?

I have my opinion on loud pipes and accent lights. But it's just an opinion.

I've gotten tons of compliments on it so far this week. I personally love it, and that's all that matters. It's funny how different the perspective of Tacoma "enthusiasts" differ from the general public. I am surprised by how so many people on here hate the hood scoop in general though, light or no light. It's like a personal assault against them or something. The hood scoop is what caught my eye 20 years ago and I still love it on the Tacoma and the 4 Runner both. I get that it isn't functional in a practical sense, but one can argue that aesthetics is the most important function of any vehicle. Not many people are going to spend around 40k on a vehicle that they don't find aesthetically appealing. And if you don't like the hood scoop, just get the one that doesn't come with it, why go out of your way to let it but you so much? One of the reasons why so many people love Tacoma's is how much you can mod them and make it your own. But I guess a lot of people just want to fit in and be like everyone else. I appreciate everyone's feedback though, thanks to everyone. I love the mod, and it only cost me $15 and 15 minutes of my time lol.

When you're the head of the household and make a good living, why do you need anyone else's validation. Verbally attacking people on forums sounds more like seeking validation than anything else.

Screenshot_20210529-004124_Gallery.jpgThe light I use on the streets will be white, and also drowned out by the OEM LED headlights. The scoop light bulbs are facing backwards as to not shine onto oncoming traffic. It is no different than the illuminated Mercedes badge on my wife's GLC 300.

I freaking love my hood scoop. One of my favorite features on my truck.

It’s way more useful than the locker;).

I would take a hood scoop over a locker any day . My short bed is already short enough.

To each their own, I personally think copper rims are atrocious on anything but a black colored pickup, but again that is just my opinion.

Mine just collects dirt these days.:(

It used to collect phone numbers, but my neighborhood Applebee's closed and everyone knows that Fuddruckers employees will only go after stanced civics, the snobs.

I like it, plus it is different and inventive. It’s a freakin light. You would think by some reactions you put 15” steel wheels and 225/55r15 tires and Toyota hubcaps on.

But, then again I am on the odd side. I still don’t understand the hate for some chrome around a little a/c vent or badge. Or why some complain the truck is too slow. I want something fast, I buy something built and known to be fast like the lightning. I also put sour cream on my noodles, So there ya go.

    peace.

I'm just curious how you managed to place the light bar (or strip) inside backwards. Can't even tell where the light originates to be honest.

Care to fill in that bit of detail?
