Got the snorkel installed and new front suspension; extended lenght kings and camburg UCAs. Unfortunately new suspension caused rubbing so had to take it to a shop for an unexpected CMC.

    Serious question
Most people say don’t change the water pump unless it leaks.
    Is that wrong?

On one side, it might be hard/a lot of work, and if the gasket isn’t leaking, then the gasket isn’t leaking.

but in general on any car really, after 100k miles other problems can develop with a water pump that would normally have been changed by that time if the engine had a timing belt.

-impeller: if plastic/not metal, that can fail
-the bearing inside that impeller spins on, can fail

just wondering if it’s actually worth the effort tearing into it to replace
    Or not
I’ll look it up. I’m sure it’s buried behind a serpentine belt related type stuff but but sure what else.

tstat maybe not a bad idea to replace given plastic but at the same time Toyota plastics are known to be higher quality/last longer than other brands

Just changed my power steering fluid, 10 years and 86K. Followed someones instructions on the forum. Wicked easy. Old fluid was dark brown and you could not see through it in a 16 ounce water bottle.

Finally found a replacement drivers seat in good condition with the same interior code as mine. Also retrofitted an autodimming homelink mirror from a Mazda lol

Nice work but it looks like you need some better splash shields.

I needed a break from all the remodeling I’m doing, so I washed the truck. I guess I should wax it now….

    Bunch of Basic Taco mods.
Gonna be a long day in the driveway tomorrow, y’all wish me luck. Pulling the Kicker 180.4 out of the dash, extending the harness to relocate to an amp board I need to build under the driver seat, while also locating a Kicker Key 500.1. Got a box of wire and parts and leftovers from previous builds to get it done, long weekend and maybe decent weather.

I’m not unhappy with the 180.4 other than some hiss ever since I installed it, wondering if a more robust ground will help (gains were set correctly.) Mainly getting ready so when my Marv box shows up all I have left is stain it, mount a sub, run one speaker wire, and drop it in.

Threw on the new Teton shift knob today. My eBay one decided to lose all of its threading. It was definitely time for a new one. Little pricey but I wanted a super quality one this time.

Can anyone recommend something to cover the shifter stick? Preferably black? The chrome is killing me :D
