    All true, and the other advantage of doing your own maintenance is it keeps you familiar with your truck, you’re more likely to catch a developing issue that might be visible from the engine bay or under the vehicle. Plus it’s just plain satisfying.

    Oh there will be some mods all right
    That is another very good point. Getting underneath your truck and doing maintenance lets you find any developing issues like leaking differential, torn CV boot, etc.

    That’s pretty pathetic if the dealer can’t rotate tires and add washer fluid at 5k. I’d be inclined to talk with the owner, at least then any time later you’d be on the list of people they assign someone who can read the torques. If it is truly that bad I’d consider moving dealerships, towns or even states.
    My dealer assigns the same service manager to me who calls after every visit. Sure it’s now been 25 years and 5 vehicles, but that relationship started in the ‘90s.

    Don't know what the problem is with this dealer but, some just won't do any extra unless their service contract with toyota tells them to. Believe me i've run into shops as such...you wonder why they get a bad rep.
