I may take you up on the offer another time if I can't get it done while I'm in Nashville. Chattanooga is just over an hour from my house, though I won't have time to do it there Tuesday.

There is absolutely no other way to say it..... KDMAX IS THE BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO THE 3RD GEN TACOMA!!!!!!!! I am a 3x Toyota pickup owner (fanboy) and this tune allowed me to fall in love with my 3rd gen for the first time. I have the SLT and love it.

Isn't it nice to now get in your truck to drive it without any anxiety, not "having" to remember to engage ECT Power every time you crank it? I was trading in a 2nd gen and I remember now that the salesman engaged that ECT Power on the test drive. He knew I would be ticked with the stock tune so it was after I got it home before I realized this engine sucked compared to what I just traded in. Wasn't really the engine but rather the "tune" it had. All is good now.

I am located in Marietta and can hook you up. I am not a business trying to make money, just a guy hoping to help out my fellow taco lovers. Just get the tune files from @PapaRee and I dump them in for you.

1st I want to say thank you to @PapaRee for the great customer service. I just finished putting SLT on my stock 21' OR myself. I haven't put many miles on it besides a quick trip down the highway but I can already feel and see the difference.

For anyone considering doing it yourself but is intimidated I can attest that the process is very straightforward and quick.

I would recommend this to anyone that is frustrated with the 3rd gen engine.

Love that tuning helps me check out some sweet rides! Caught those two today while setting them up with KDM 6.0B5D8FC20-6D03-4ECF-9E69-B4B6FA42913E.jpgDC9AEF29-0C0B-42BA-9300-1ED5E622FA9C.jpg

Just got my 2020 tuned with Max here in Vegas. The KD Max tune is a world of difference! Instantly felt like a completely different truck. Highly recommend!

Got tuned by @MGMSangTaco in Denver. Pretty quick process and super cool guy. I have 350-400 miles on the LT tune with a couple trips up and down to Denver from the mountains on the tune so far. Definitely feels like a different truck, in a great way! The biggest adjustment driving (besides going faster:D) is just getting use to manipulating the gas pedal differently. A lil more finesse is needed off the line. You don’t have to go 60ish% throttle to get going. I’d say you go 15-20% throttle w/ KDMAX to get up and going. My taco drives more akin to most other AT’s out there:thumbsup: Holds gears longer when going 60-75 and shifts as smooth if not smoother than stock. No more rocket ship takeoffs off the line when you keep giving throttle because your truck won’t down shift, then all of a sudden drops two gears and boom! Rocket ship! Now it’ll blast off when you want it to:thumbsup:
Overall I’m very impressed and a huge upgrade from the stock tune. I could nit-pick at a few things but I’m not expecting perfection, nothing ever is. @PapaRee & @TWTaco Great freakin job! You guys are what makes a forum like this so awesome:cool: I do sorta want to try the regular tune, maybe once I get a winch and some bumpers I’ll check it out

I installed an iDrive throttle controller before getting the tune, and kept it installed. Now in street driving I leave it "off". For trails I toggle it to one of the eco mode settings.

Hell yeah man glad to hear it, and thanks for the great review! I agree takes a little more finesse- I love that the control is all in the foot instead of the computer hiccuping and trying to figure out what to do for you. Let me know if you ever want to try the more aggressive too - as always free to reflash! And agreed- people like @PapaRee and @TWTaco are what this place is all about!

Thanks for setting it up! Appreciate it, and I’m glad we’re both able to assist in bringing more happiness to the 3rd gen community.

Cookout is far superior to in n out in much the same way as KDMax is superior to OVTune 2.0. Not hating on either, but the product (cookout/KDMax) is objectively better.
