Was up there towards the end of January. There are some burned areas, but overall not too bad. Some trash and shell casings, but from what I saw seemed localized to a few of the easier to get to areas. Lake level was pretty low if I recall correctly.

going to be a hot weekend so bring some sun screen and shades. Plus go early if you are camping and also going to plenty of shooting up there. I have some friends and families heading up there this weekend

I heard there’s no shooting right now cuz of fire season? Is camping only at designated areas? I’ve never been and was asked last minute if I was interested in going. I checked the website out but not much info on there.

I haven’t seen the notice for no shooting from BLM, but for camping it’s dispersed camping so you can pretty much camp anywhere, best place is at the north end where the creek runs into the reservoir. The only down side is that there’s no much shade so a canopy is a must especially with this weekend being hot.

One of the Rangers told my buddy on the phone today that they ARE allowed at this point... I'm bringing my LPG fire pit just in case, since those are always allowed...

Made it up to Hull Mountain as planned. What an amazing climb. I would highly recommend it. The view from up there is amazing... and some nail biting drop-offs.
Continued the rest of the way on the M1, and found a killer swimming hole near Eel River Campground.

Didn’t make it that far. I did want to check it out tho. Maybe next time. I didn’t get to explore much neither, my kid wanted to play in the water more than anything.
