    yeah they suck. I have chronic migraines. Doctors can’t figure out why. It’s mostly sinus related but I can’t bring myself to get the surgery when it’s a 50/50 chance of getting rid of my headaches.

    Have a look at the spare tire cable. I believe there was an issue or maybe a recall on it failing at some point.

    Yep, and them lower ball joints. That’s a weak component on these first gens.

    Another defect to keep an eye out for is leak into the passenger floorboard. Mine has it and there are multiple threads on it here. Toyota released a TSB for it:

    I’m not sure if a tall guy like yourself will have an issue but a lot of people crack their drivers seat trim over time crawling in and out of the truck. Guy on here made a reinforcement and sells them. I bought one years ago and prevented mine from cracking further:
