Nice Fusion 360 Modeling, have you converted to a direct drive extruder? I made a bracket that makes my Tevo almost a direct drive and it seems to work well with the titan extruder. Basically just shortened the tube. Have not been able to print soft TPU but for the most part everything else worked well. Are you using Cura for slicing. Worked well going from Fusion 360 direct to the slicing. I would be interested on as well, what is your build time?

I did a little 3D printing for this project, just the bottom cover of the shutoff switch, but the plate was mad on the CNC machine.

I upgraded to a Hemera direct drive a few weeks ago. Been spending the last few weeks dialing it in. Just wish i had more time. I was using simplify3d for the slicing, but found that it does not do as well for higher speeds. I switched to Prusaslicer. A lot more ability to tweak the settings, which is good because at 350mm/s retraction settings of 0.01 make a difference.

Yes. Long story short my printer needed some major modifications. Between working 12-14hour days 6 days a week and looking for a new job I haven't had time to work on it. Well I got a new job about a month ago, and while Im still working 12 hour days I get weekends off now!! I was able to disassemble the printer last weekend and I'm hoping I can find the time this weekend to reassemble it. If I do I should have a bigger update next week, hopefully.

I want to print 3-5 before I start taking orders. Just to make sure I can actually reliably pump these out. After that I'll start a list. Projected price is $3-350.

In that regard I have got the printer reassembled, adjusted, and am printing a console now. It appears I gained the needed clearance with an 1/8" to spare. We'll see what it looks like in a few days.

Disregard, out of my price range. I can just charge my UV-5Rs on a dock

The long story short, my current hurdle is that I've been in limbo waiting for parts. I need a fan for my printer that moves a substantial amount of air. The specs on the first 2 I ordered claimed to be good, but they werent anywhere near what they claimed. lesson learned after the first 2. Instead of ordering the next fans one by one waiting 6-12 weeks between each one, I ordered 28 different fans. That was 4-5 months ago. I've received 12 of those so far... And of those the one i received last week is the only one that even comes close to it's claimed specs, but I think it's going to work. That said its a much larger fan than I designed clearance for in the printer so it's taking some time designing a mount and fan shroud to fit. I'd say I'm close, because I think I am, but I never in my wildest dreams, nightmares, or imagination envisioned it could take this long.

I've been doing some smaller jobs for people with the advance warning that it might take a few weeks and there maybe some small cosmetic blemishes. Essentially they've just been used to test out fans. I've actually been doing a lot of custom badges and emblems, and they've been coming out great. I'm not doing jobs for larger parts yet, but hoping to change that soon.

This is awesome, nice work OP. Any plans to make consoles for other Generations? I need one for my ‘86 pickup!

Man a console for those guys that have done the FJ swap would be sweet!! Let me know if that's something you would think about doing and i can be a test pig lol. Wouldn't be hard since the clot it just the coin holder from the stock one. Possibly make it a tad bit larger of an opening lol.

Time for a very long over due update. It's been a VERY stressful journey getting this printer working to the point I'm satisfied with. That said, the good news is I believe it's there. The biggest hurdle has been the availability of parts. I waited about 6 months for the part cooling fan I'm using now, but considering it's used in things like ventilators and cpap machines, and the whole worldwide apocalypse, it's kinda understandable why it has been so hard to get one. In between first building the printer and geting this fan I melted over a dozen, and had 4 actually catch fire... I could go on and on about all the problems I've solved, but what really matters is I think I have them solved. The first console is up for sale, and more will be coming soon. Just waiting for more filament right now.

I found this from your blemished sale thread. Was going to buy that, but now I see you have a version with the radio charger.

Will you still be offering "custom" designs? (since most discussion is from 2020)

I'd like one with the switch mounts, 1x radio charger, and the larger cup holder (Yeti/RTIC preferably). Flash light and winch controller would be awesome too.

That is still the plan. I still can't believe how long it's taken to make this thing reliable. But now that it is, I'm hoping to ramp it up. I'll need to look into the yetis and figure out all the different sizes. Same with the winch controller.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
One thought would be to make the cup holder big enough to hold a Nalgene bottle, then make a separate tappered insert that can retain a variety of cup sizes.

My FJC has this, and why the 4runner and Taco makes no sense to me.
