Does anyone run a 285/65/17? I'm looking to get a wider tire for better floating on sand which is where I spend most of my time off road.

I havent regeared yet, so I'd rather not run a 33" tire. A 285/65/17 nets me a 31.5" tall tire but a nice wide foot print.

My wheels are TRD Pro Sema's.

Did you ever get any experience with this size? I'm wondering the same.

Nope. Never got a response or input from other members. I decided to go with a 265/70/17 tire for more sidewall when aired down. Give more protection on rocks.

I think you made the right decision. It's an odd size, unlike the 265/75/17, not many options for tires/brands.

I wonder if I put 285/65/17 it will not rub, assuming 2 to 3 inch lift?? I just don’t want CMC possible.

did you do it? I'm now considering this size with Cooper AT3 LT E's. i currently run those same tires in 265/70. but I'm going wider with 285/65 or also taller with 275/70.
