Installed skid plate from Ethan and welded a few bars to slow down the cat stealing.

 

What is the thickness of that skid? And are they sold on TW?

 

He offers two different thicknesses, 10 gauge and 7 gauge.

I emailed him directly and he responded pretty quickly.

They’re obviously more money now, like everything, but it really is a quality piece.

Ditched the overload springs on my Dakars - installed the OME AAL, and the Wheelers 3-leaf AAL. Took sort of a gamble, but the shackle ended up almost perfect 90° angle to springs, which I have read = good geometry. They certainly ride smoother as a 9-leaf pack than the 5+2.

Installed axle relocation plate to push the wheels back where they belong.

And new extra-extended brake line, and 3/8ths superbump spacer.

Now to measure flex and get longer shocks!

 

Just changed the oil! I finally have the time and finances to be able to do what I would like to my truck.

 

Won't a full set of skids cover it? Think so..

Fair warning. It doesn't cover the steering rack for shit which is a bummer. And I had to modify mine to fit on my relentless bumper a tad.

Personally for a serious skid plate since he never developed a mid/full belly skid I'd get something else.

 

They will but it’s the old mans truck. He doesn’t need super beefy.

I Finished installing my custom chase rack with LED lights. The rack started it's life made for a 2nd gen Dodge Dakota. I cut an inch out of the middle to adjust the width and added the rear upper tubes, light mounting tabs and mesh. After that I had it powder coated satin black.
I thought about using an LED light bar, but decided I liked the look of these.
The two outer lights are flood lights and the inner two are spots.




The four switches I had made with artwork that I designed for them for the spot and flood lights as well as the rear bumper lights and fog lights. The switch plate is black acrylic cut on my laser cutter.


I used 2 pin bulkhead deutsch connectors with adapter plates I designed and 3D printed to mount the connectors to the 1-1/2" tubing. You can also see the diamond shaped 2 piece grommets I made for where the wire passes through the mesh.


7/16" grade 8 mounting bolts come up through the bed rail into the short vertical tubes that I covered with plastic caps. There is a 1" 90 degree steel angle sandwiched underneath the bed rail to strengthen the mounting.

Pretty much complete for the GX, just need powder coating. I still need to design my tire carrier then off to powder coating also.

 

Rehabing my spare tire winch this morning and as I was putting it back on the crossmember, something occurred to me: in the rust belt, anti seize is the automotive repair equivalent to Franks Red Hot sauce.
