I did. It wasn't too bad. Parts fit together pretty well. I felt like the prep work on the rig was harder than the welding. I still had my air bags and compressor when I did it and had to relocate the compressor. It also requires you to drill and tap some new holes in the frame as well as some grinding to get it all to fit right. The mounting hardware is not included so it took me some trial and error to get the right size/length for the different mounting points. Overall wasn't too bad though...

Looks like a lot of work.

I think I’m gonna buy the Metal Tech rear bumper. I like how it looks and is a single swing.

It really wasn't too bad. If you already have the means (welder, grinder etc), then it's pretty straight forward.

That being said, the MT Pegasus is pretty nice. I really like that it goes all the way up to the body. The step pockets on the side are a nice touch too.. The biggest downside to the coastal unit is that you have to cut the original bumper cover to make filler pieces.

I REALLY like the Victory4x4 but after you add the price of both swings, and all the accessories, it ends up costing more than the Pegasus. Plus I would rather not deal with dual swingouts...doesn’t make sense with the GX barn door

Price was the main reason I went with coastal. It was under $1500 shipped. It came in just a couple weeks too, so I didn't have to wait for extended lead times.

You are right about the swingouts too. I'll probably just end up running the single spare tire swingout most of the time and only add the fuel swing on extended trips.

Thanks for the reply, ordered my bumper yesterday! Where did you have to drill and tap for bolts?

You have to drill/tap the two bolts closest to the front...

    20210530_175500.jpg

Also, it's hard to see in this pic, but the resonator/exhaust actually mounts through the bumper. I'm probably gonna cut that shit off pretty soon here to avoid all that nonsense. Let me know if you want any more help. @yeos and I just got done with this so we have a pretty good game plan to assist as needed.

Are you lifted? More specifically, do you still have your airbags/compressor?

I cut the exhaust just behind that resonator. I hear no difference in sound to be honest.

I tapped those holes to M10 - 1.50. I'm sure M12 will work as well. I still have to enlarge the existing bumper holes to match up with the frame holes. A barrel sander on a rotary tool will do the trick.

Nope. The wheel specs are 18 x 9" with a 0 offset. With a 275 wide tire they tucked real nicely at Moab.
