well guys, I’m going to take it out and burn it in for a few days right now in the desert. I got it mounted. There are a lot of fit and finish, craftsmanship issues. I’ll wait until I get back in a few days before I rip into it, try and give it a fair shake. But as an initial leader, the riveted badge is indicative of most of the things I noticed throughout.

I was in the market for a new tent last week and ended up ordering from CVT. Came real close to ordering a Ninja but the reports of shipping delays here, plus the phone number that went to an unanswered Google voice line turned me off. Good luck to you guys I hope the delayed gratification is the worst part.

This is what happens when you remove a malformed/misaligned riveted badge in an aluminum shell. Notice the chalk marks that were never removed.
Now I have to Bondo fill the holes and paint over, or, put another sticker over it, with is probably what I’ll do. They badged it in the front and back with rivets. Double the work. Painting sucks bawlz…

 

Still haven’t had updated shipping from FedEx either after I was told this weekend I would.

 

Upper alum Shell doesn’t fit the platform, which comes from a generic design . I had to add garage door rubber flashing to keep the mattress from being exposed on the latch side when closed, otherwise the shell will fill with Mojave dust just driving down the road. The biggest downer, is, I had to remove the mattress, otherwise the shell doesn’t close correctly. Start subtracting money from $3k because it is starting to add up in retrofits and I haven’t even hit the road yet. Had to throw away the included mattress, got an air mattress and am storing it in bed. The latches are a joke, even when closed (they don’t stay closed unless you lock them btw) you can still remove the cable from the hook. They were riveted that loosely and don’t ratchet or adjust down. I had to suitcase strap the shell to keep it closed. Already spent about $300 in retrofits and I don’t hit the road until morning. Oh yah, shake and vacuum the shit out of it before you put in an expensive air mattress, it’s full of aluminum shavings.

 

Wow. How is that quality controlled?!

 

What tent did you get, I think I know, but I’m hoping I don’t. Also looking like it might be cheaper to eat the cost to return it or refuse.

 

I have the same gap issue on my Warrior as you do, but for the most part everything else is fine. Had some issues with getting the LEDs to work as the connector could be way better.

 

I think that’s a China thing with the gap. Mine has it too. I think with any brand you’ll be able to pick apart the tent and have pros and cons.
As far as the phone number thing, I’d try emailing. But if you called after their business hours they won’t answer.
