BRAND NEW SPORT OR OFFROAD...why?

yeah for sure that’s the plan. Leveling kit should work with some 33’s. Maybe a small lift with 35’s. But that’s the plan

 

Ill echo what has been said. IMO, Sport for mall crawl. OR for well, offroading. For the value and features you get, I'd vote OR.

On my second sport, like the styling over the OR. 1st was a 2009 TRD PreRunner. Clock 200k on it and served us very.

I prefer the esthetics of the short bed visually. I also have a 12’ flat deck trailer if I every needed to haul anything that wouldn’t fit in the bed.

Toyota could add Off Road decals to the side of Sports and most guys here would never know the difference, that's how often they use their locker. Despite what they may say...

 

Have had sport short bed and now OR long bed. Prefer the long bed and OR 99% of the time. My truck gets offroaded a lot though. Sport is fine if you live most of your life on pavement. The OR is a much more comfortable off road. On road? Meh, so it sways a bit. It's a truck.

 

Sport was en easy decision for me. I'm not doing a lot of off-roading (and virtually zero hardcore off-roading), and wanted good road manners...plus I really prefer the look of the sports, with the body color fenders and scoop. No regrets!

 

The OR wins across the board for me. As for long vs short bed it depends if you want to lift. Short looks right at stock height and a lil dinky lifted. Long bed looks ridiculous at stock height and monstrous lifted. Can't get long bed with a manual though so it was irrelevant for me. Best of luck deciding OP.

yeah I think I would want a long bed for sure. I thing the short bed looks funny because it’s not proportionate to the cab. I would level it or even a little lift if I had to.

 

Another thing to consider, is it's quite a bit easier to sleep in the LB than the SB (depending on how tall you are). I fit in the back of my long bed with the tailgate up just fine. Too tall do it in the SB.

how do you like your offroad long bed?

 

Get what makes you happy, that feeling you get years down the line that is the same as the day you drove off the dealerships lot. That’s when you know you chose wisely.

 

I vastly prefer it to my short bed Sport I had before. Handles way better offroad desert running. Breakover angle kind of sucks, but nothing a bit of lift and tires can't fix.

I love the 4 door long bed. My 2 local dealers don’t have any right now. There is a used 2019 sport at a dealer right now with 40k miles and they are asking41k for it. That’s crazy. I can get a brand new one for 40k.

 

You may want to consider traveling a bit to get the truck you want at a reasonable price. I took a plane ride to buy my truck and had an enjoyable 3 hour drive home with my new truck. Internet sales is a super easy way to buy these days.
