Slow. The weather has taken the wind out of my sails, so to say. Took the small humans to my Mom's to give the wife some alone time.

So the 4Runner had a short run with us. We bought it May 2020 to drive cross country for 31,500 plus taxes and fees, traded it in this morning and got 37k towards a RAV4 prime for just under MSRP. 4Runner was a beast and will be missed, but running around town and getting 99.9 mpgs is a great trade off. If they make a prime version of the 4Runner, I’ll be first in line.

Cold and rainy camping! Last night was nice so we had a good rager of a fire going. This morning is just cold but rain off and on all day. Oh well, first trip out, still fun to be camping.

I’ve never camped at the lake and it’s right down the road...

Let me know how it goes, I really should take advantage of it more!

I'd love to get back into camping. Been a LONG time.
The kids are older now, so, should be easier.
Though, she is interested, she is looking for more creature comforts..
Bed, bathroom, kitchenette, etc... especially for weekends like this.
    Thinking RPod size...

I love it up there. Done some work in Swanton, Milton, Burlington... I never shy away from that drive.

I saw this on the NY Thruway this week

It looks like it would be an ultimate camping setup for a couple.

No way, they’re nice if you literally only need a place to sleep. Otherwise, I see no use for the teardrops, I’d rather have a small hard side camper that at least has an indoor kitchen and bathroom.

B84F941F-897E-42B9-8C0A-7FADE05311DF.jpg Anyone want these? Make an offer/trade? OEM Toyota window glass for 2nd Gen Regular Cab manual crank windows driver and passenger side with professional (not DIY) “Viper” tint in shipping boxes. Figured I’d post them here before buy/sell/trade thread.

Tint is mild, I won’t bother guessing what % because I honestly have no idea. What you see in the pic is just the shadow behind it but the little strip by the edge gives you an idea of the difference of the tint vs the clear glass.

Not looking to make money just want them to go to a good home

At least something you can stand up in! I’d rather have a pop up over a tear drop.

Those are nice, but, she is definitely after a bathroom, and shower. Plus, need room for at least 1 dog.

    Agree

    Pretty much.
All about compromise. Being cooped up, in a tent on a weekend like this, with a restless woman, and restless dog... all set.

She is thinking something like this. Small, 3k ish lbs. Easy to drag, and leave somewhere as a base for a week, etc.
She likes the rp180, and 189. Full bathroom, etc. I mean, hey, I get it.... I'm not AGAINST it. If it gets us away.... I'm in.

It seems like most campers are set up for couples. You should definitely be able to find something that you guys like. It seems like each company only makes 1 or 2 models with bunks inside of them.

I agree, but they’ve been putting more thought into the bunks lately it seems. The old ones were just a trailer with bunk beds jammed into a side or corner. The newer ones are pretty cool! I also like the quad bunk models but they can get heavy and long. I like ours now, light enough where I could go back to a half ton if I really need to but good space inside for us with the dog and kids. If I had a tear drop for this trip, I’d be hating life! The extra room has been much needed since we spent a fair amount of time cooped up inside.

I forgot how much I hate selling non-car parts to the general public. Some of the questions and replies I’ve seen make me ponder how people manage to dress themselves in the morning. I’ve had 17(!) people message me so far and still no one has come to get it.

I just found a link to a set of brand new SEMA wheels from a Toyota dealer for $645 shipped. I managed to talk myself into and out of them in the same day. I don’t love my FJ steel wheels for winter wheels, but it would be a new cost to me of probably $350-400 to do the swap and I don’t think I like the SEMA wheels enough. I need to find a set of 17s I love enough to stick with. The Rock Warriors would fit the bill but at $340 a wheel I’m good. Once my snows wear out I’ll go back to the stock Off-Road wheels and be happy.

This is what happens when I spend too much time inside in the rain.

I'm writing an ad for my gaming rig tonight and I feel your pain re selling things. I'm sure mine will bring out the chiselers..it's a complete system, all high end parts. Way more than I have room or need of sadly.
